Yay Not The Only One To make Phone Cringe Ups When Posting

I was getting so worried, I thought that I was the only cack-handed person in the universe. I am following the emerging demographic that uses their smartphones to engage online. I make some real blues, I read things that I have posted from my phone and " cringe " sometimes. I have been rescued more than a few times by caring members across the online community.

So happy that I am in a big club and not the only one to make those posting pho-pars .

It can be so easy to do and it can alter so much and cause so many issues. The wrong word in the wrong place, extra letters, they can alter the intent or meaning of the posted material. the list goes on.

It is something to really watch out for, it can be costly. if we are not onto it, the habit is formed. Easier to take some action to correct things earlier on in the piece.

For me I am no good at tapping what's so ever, on that phone screen, fortunately there are some awesome apps out there that allow you to scribe your comments and messages. combined with predictive text a real savior. There are ways around problems there always are. The biggie and it is old school...................................

proofread it before you post it.

It can save you a lot of hassles.

Using your smartphone or device is so helpful to engage on the go, it does bring some issues as well.Would love to hear how you use your phone to engage online and if you make mistakes if any.

Classic thank you for reading, have an awesome week.

Alexander

I agree with this. Proof reading is a must.

Hi James so true it is a must I think, technology makes things so easy for us it perhaps a little to easy, thank you for sharing with us.

Thanks for sharing, Alexander.

Hi, Rodger you are very welcome my friend.

I'm just barely removed from the stage of realizing phone copy is visual rather than phonic Alex!

Classic Mike brilliant answer my friend, we are all challenged on some level,

LOL. I dictate to my phone almost exclusively. I would never do that YET on WA site. Sometimes my dictation transcription is funny, sometimes accurate and sometimes "OH MY".
Good advice: Proof read!

Classic Patricia, I know that sinking feeling when we have pushed the publish button when it ios out there it is hard to take it back sometimes. proofreading can save the day.

Very good advice, thanks Alex

Hi, Jeff, you are most welcome, it can save the day if we proofread as we go, I have learned that one the hard way.

Sometimes auto correct can dangerous when you post. Lol

Hi Elwin i have been caught out on that one as well especially if it replaces the odd word that you don't see as you push send. Proofing can save the day.

I read 2 or 3 times and then change or post,

That is a good way to manage it Mike, I like that one thank you.

I occasionally use my smartphone to make brief comments on WA. I'm not brave to enough to attempt anything greater than that. I always proofread my work, but can't guarantee that it is absolutely correct on my smartphone, which is actually a 'sticky beak' and sometimes changes words! Yes, I know that sounds crazy, but it is true!!

Give me my computer or, at the very least, laptop keyboard any time!!

Thanks for your blog Alexander. I enjoyed it :)

That is such a good way to put things Valerie sticky beak, I have been caught out with that one. It can create problems.
I think it is like everything it is how we manage how we engage that counts.

That is very true Alexander :)

A great post and I totally understand the hiccups we make.
I am the only person on here that has a Dyslexic typing finger :) lol.
Cheers and thanks, Tosh :)

I think that there are a few of us keeping you company Tosh I had the same worries. Thank you for commenting.

Tons of them, Alexander!

I'm not a prophet-but at the moment........

I think this newfangled Dragon is one of the forerunners of what's coming next......hey.....to be sixteen again and see that whole thing unfolding.......

That would bring it's own set of problems Therese, the thing is we are here now and it is probably the best time to be involved with IM with the way technology is going. Just have to be careful.

Could be you're right!
Would cause upheivals and imbalances in the whole science of content and search engines.....
