Accelerated Mobile Pages, Act Two

In my previous post, I described Google new endeavor to speed up rendering pages on mobile devices. You can read the article here: https://en.onpage.org/blog/accelerated-mobile-pages-amp-even-faster-mobile-websites

Basically, the goal is to get a page to render in less than 3 seconds.

Now in Act Two, I have found a plug-in for wordpress that creates amp posts. The plug-in does not currently work for pages. In your wordpress admin, go to plug-ins, add new, and search for amp. Then install the plug-in like any other plug-in.

Assuming you are using the custom permalink, go to settings, permalink and at the end of the custom permalink add /amp/. Easy?

There are a few issues.
1. The plug-in does not currently work on pages. This may or may not be implemented.
2. Depending on the complexity of your wp theme, you might experience some problems.
3. It took Google a few days to start recognizing the amp pages on my web site.

I have implemented the plug-in on my site http://buyingcigarsonline.com. If you have a mobile device, you can access it using firefox or chrome. I have not tried it with IE. Let me know if you think the posts render faster.
