A couple of well known and popular threads with WA - great that people comment within these threads and this is useful. However, I believe that it would be even more useful, in terms of helping google rankings, if people actually commented within the 'leave a reply' section on the posts within the WP sites.
Maybe more constructive and informative comments on WA and, well anything on the reply section (to show google that there is interest and to aid rankings).
Might be well wrong on this, but I am pretty sure that the training does speak about the importance of having activity in terms of comments on your sites.
Noticed that there have been a couple of posts regarding WA rankings of late, and the general consensus seems that rankings within WA are of little importance (apart from a smidgen of ego, pride and competitive motivation). Rather it is more about genuinely trying to assist others and collaboration within the community.
I appreciate and share these sentiments.

There is a thread in WA for this purpose specifically, whereby you comment on other people's sites, and they in turn will supposedly return the comment to your site.

Thanks Jude, that is another thread, other than the two I mentioned. Maybe that one makes the point I was trying to make in the post about actually making sure we comment within the sites. I will check that one out tomorrow when I have scheduled a personal time session for commenting.
Someone commented on the fact that most people don't leave comments on websites. I know, it is extremely rare for me to leave a comment on (any non-WA) website. Even when I order something, I leave no comments.
Interesting Gordi, do you plan to leave comments in the future, I wonder....? The thread that Jude suggest above seems to explain the importance better than I do. Maybe people are put off by filling in the pictograms and just cannot be bothered. No idea. I guess I was just hoping that people might consider this and help each other within WA.
Yes, you"re right. I don't have traffic yet. I could use comments, feedback on my site. As far as rank goes, I just try to help when I can. I still have a lot to learn myself. When I get more advanced, I might be able to help more.
Yes, I am in the same situation. No traffic and I would like to change that around (I know it takes time...the camino is a long one). Comments swinging by your site tomorrow, buddy.
Absolutely, I am sure that there are many that realise this. However, just found it a little frustrating that I received no comments actually WITHIN the site when I recently asked for them (two useful comments within the WA thread) and need to start getting more traffic.
Brenda, me too and my mission tomorrow is to comment WITHIN 10 peoples' sites. Hoping to get it done and dusted in an hour. Might not be the finest quality REPLIES but at least there will be activity going and it should all help.
Absolutely right Alan, this blog for comments/critiques about the site it self, then leave a comment on the actual website about the post. I once received a long tirade on my website, about all my sites (perceived) shortfalls and problems. Needless to say I didn't publish, as that is not the place for it.
Mike, absolutely, that is a good point. The tirades/constructive criticisms for WA thread and the innocuous, praiseworthy and complimentary stuff for the site. Sounds about right to me. :)
Jorge, no actually WITHIN the comments section of peoples' WP sites. Also, on the thread if you like or PM section but that would be extra.
