My website conundrum!

Is it time to Springclean my site... or put the shutters on my website?

Well, as many of my readers will know by now, I have been a member of Wealthy Affiliate for 1 year now. I was getting some small amount of traffic until July 2018, but since then I am not seeing anything as I have just been studying my Google Search Console and Google Analytic site. While I am aware that so many of you have offered great support and encouragement to continue on this site and have received a good number of positive comments/feedback on some of my recent posts. I continue to receive 0 traffic and am unsure if I have any ranking at this time in Google( I have in Bing I believe) As a consequence, this is my final plan for my current website......

Current Plan.

1. Request site feedback ( I need to offer more site feedback in order gain enough credits to accomplish this) and seriously apply any improvements/corrections /changes that are suggested provided I understand clearly how to achieve this.

2. Begin to interact with Quora and Warrior Forums to draw attention to my niche subject which will hopefully attract attention to my niche and website.( I am still to gain a full understanding of how to navigate around these forums, but hopefully I will get used to them as I explore them more regularly.

3. Add some more posts and update previous ones as needs indicate.

4. Continue with the repeat training in O.E. C. until completion.

If after doing all this, which will probably take me at least another 4 weeks at my current work-pace..... I will seriously consider leaving this niche and seek another niche subject and create another website from scratch. I am unclear what niche this will be at present.

To be frank, I will be very sorry to leave my current niche as I have put a great deal of effort and time and research and learnt s great deal along the way.

I would welcome any comments/feedback as to whether this is the most sensible and feasable

"Rescue Plan" ( as I see it ). Thanks in advance for reading this and commenting if you are able.

Alan.

Have you tried Google audits? It can give you a good indication of your site's health when you compare the results with the audit result of your competitor. If you use Google Chrome as browser, it's better to open a incognito window when you do a audit, that gives a more reliable result.

In Google search console you can see how many pages are ranked and which not. Also you can see if your sitemap is working well.

I hope this is helpful, good luck.

I wish I had it all figured out myself. My latest articles aren't even getting indexed. (I guess they will eventually but things have slowed way down.) It's great that you are not giving up; that's the way to success!

I'm sorry you are having trouble Alan. I'm afraid I can't give any advice, because I am so new to all of this. I just want to encourage you to hang in there and I pray you will find a solution.

Could it be a niche dependent problem? A topic that is not searched?
Just a thought...

Hi Alan,

Are you on social media? If not, it might be helpful if you set up one or more accounts. This will help you promote links to your blog posts and expand your network.

Yes I have accounts with Facebook/Pinterest/Instagram/twitter but I still have struggles in managing and using them correctly. I will have to re-visit the training to understand them properly. Thanks for responding.

Wow - so you're definitely on top of the social networking idea! I can just imagine how frustrating this is(!).

Is it possible that the answer is as simple as:

Your niche doesn't attract many searches in general?
Your website's niche competition to too vast and established?

In other words - could you benefit from branching off a bit with your subject matter? Just brainstorming.

Thanks for this I have been wondering about this and maybe I should dig a bit deeper in to my niche and maybe focus more on the concepts of fixed and growth mindset which seems to be getting a lot of attention and becoming more of a passionate interest of mind of late. Thank you for responding.

Alan, in many of the comments and/or trainings I have followed, it has been said not to worry too much about your first website/niche (if indeed that is the case). If your rescue plan isn't successful after ___ (put a specific timeline in the blank) then just be thankful you had some traffic and move on. NEXT! Your energy is best spent being productive, not trying to resurrect the dead LOL

Best of luck on your journey to success!

Amy
