GUIDELINES FOR WRITING ARTICLE
This is a brief guide to things to consider when considering an article and when writing. Remember that
we are not writing for ourselves. We are also not writing to experts in our field of en devour but to lay people.

Our objective is to inform and educate them SIMPLE!
The audience is important. To ensure that the article meets a need in the assumed target, lay people
who are not accountant, you must address the questions in point 2 of the guideline. See below.
You must not proceed to write an article till you have answered the questions in point 2 convincingly.If you cannot answer the question on why it’s important, perhaps you should not write the article.

1. Goal
a. What is your business goal?
b. What are you trying to achieve with the writing?

2. Reframe: put your reader into it
a. Why does it matter to them?

b. What is in it for them?

c. Why should they care?

d. What is the clear lessons you want readers to take away?
e. What value do you have to offer them?
f. What advice or help can you provide?
As part of the reframing process you should ask "So what?" for each reason advance. So what?
1. Seek out the data and examples
a. What credible sources support your main idea?
b. Are there examples, data, real-world stories, relevant anecdotes, timely developments or new stories you can cite?
