Google Algorithm Update - What Next?

Last Update: May 19, 2020

With the latest Google algorithm update, what should we expect to happen? May be some of us have already seen the changes from your Google analytics.

Google updates are to ensure that the best results are generated whenever a search is done. It tries to be fair to both customers and website owners.

To keep your website ahead of the curve, let us take a look at what we should be doing to stay in line with the Google algorithm update.

Do not try to get rich quick

Lately, there is a rise of SEO scams out there. Some promise to auto-generate quality content for you, while others guarantee you to be on Google's first page in a week!

Always remember that the most important thing to do is writing good content. Write content that accurately reflects your business and keep updating it.

Google indexes your website based on what it tries to address. The better your content and the more frequently it's updated, the more likely other bloggers and websites will link to your site. These links play a crucial part in your Google ranking.

Embrace new markup

Markup helps Google recognize your product or service better. It facilitates a better rating of your content, placing it in the front of the right customers. Whenever new markup becomes popular, and Google accepts it, you should add it on your site.

Keep your website clear of errors

You have to track errors, preferably with Google Console, continually. Sending clean signals suggests Google that you care about your site. I hope you know that Google will always make a walk-although every few days before they propose their customers to your content.

Always carry out the tasks below regularly to keep your website in compliance with Google updates.

  1. Browser or make device checks on media item like images and videos, on every page
  2. Canonicalize or remove duplicate content
  3. Check for any broken links and redirection
  4. Check for the source for hidden text
  5. Check your backlink profile and clean it regularly
  6. Ensure that the content you share is what one would expect upon clicking on your search listing
  7. Make clear content with ads
  8. Regularly update all your plugin
  9. Test any markup in Google Console
  10. Use alt tags for all image

So what is your opinion in light of the latest Google Alogarithm Update? I would like read your views.

I just keep doing what I was doing before, my traffic is where it was on the first of May already. If you are following the training here and applying the information that Jay produces on Friday nights, your website will produce results over time.
Work hard and write a knowledgeable post for your audience using great keywords and add a video that is related.

I cannot agree with you more, John. I have benefited a lot from Jay's training too. Every bit of knowledge we pick is a block to our building of success.
Thank you for the comment.

Good post, my views on Algorithm changes are that they are going to happen, no matter what, we can't control them at all, so if it is your only way of promoting your blog, then it will cause you issues

However, if like and others you have multiple ways of blog promotion and a lot of mine is Turnkey ( automated and pays) but not SEO, then it shouldn't present too much of a problem

Thank you, Dave, for the feedback. I have not heard of Turnkey before but this good homework for me today. You can refer me to where I can quickly catch up.

I'm not sure what a mark up is? Some of these terms are still new to me and how I would check something like backlinks. Love to see an explanation.

A markup It is a type of code that makes it easy for search engines to crawl, display and organise your website content. Schema markup is widely used to offer SEO solutions in the digital marketing space. It enhances the presence of your website in the search engine results.

Popular backlink analysis tools are Ahrefs, Ubersuggest and CognitiveSEO. These can help trace those links pointing to your website that may hurt your Google ranking.
