Has anyone had to do this in the past? I need to back up my site but I've no idea how....
There a some plugins you can use for this purpose. You can search for them using the function for this in the admin area of your website. Otherwise, Sitesupport does it automatically for you, once a day.
Hey Adam
Go into your wordpress editor, then select tools and export.
WA also have backups as well
hope this helps
paul
I think so.. send a msg to site support to confirm I guess..
Unless anyone else here can confirm??

How do i back up my wordpress site?
Has anyone had to do this in the past? I need to back up my site but I've no idea how....
Hi Adam,
I use the free plugin: "UpdraftPlus - Backup/Restore". You can easily get this by going to add new plugin and type it in the search area. I have been using it for awhile and not have had any problems.
Best wishes,
Michael

Hey guys,
Does anyone know how I can back up my site?
I'd really appreciate any input on this one.
Thanks in advance,
Adam
Hi Adam,
I use the plugin Updraft Plus to back up my site. Have had no problems with it, easy to use. You can back up to computer, USB or the cloud.
Best wishes,
Michael
Hey Adam,
Seeing as Dale has already offered you great advice, all I would like to add here is for you to not forget that you can search for training and blog tips (and sometimes even questions asked have great advice provided in comments!).
If you cannot find something with a keyword you have thought to search with, change the keyword... or even the spelling. Sometimes even adding an "s" to the end of a keyword will provide you with different options.
Hope you find this helpful.

can you do that so I can use my own plugins? I'm not sure how to go about it?
Hi there,
If I have understood your question correctly, you don't need to import a WordPress site just so you can use certain plugins.
You can install any plugin of your choice on any WordPress site hosted on any hosting provider.
You just need to go to Plugins > Add New in the WP admin area and type the name of the plugin into the search box on the right. When it shows up on the screen you then need to click 'Install', followed by 'Activate' when it has been installed.
When you refer to 'my plugins', if you're talking about plugins you have developed then you will need to upload the plugin folder to the wp-content/plugins directory and then activate it/them from the Plugins screen in the admin area.
Again, you don't need to import the WP site to WA to do that.
Of course, it's highly probable that I've not understood your question..! If that's the case please clarify it so I can offer a better solution.
Cheers,
Martin.
Hi Adam
You go to dashboard/tools/export.
Choose to download all content. Download onto your hard drive.
Then install your new blog go to dashboard/tools/import. Find the file on your hard drive and import
