Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone! I wish you all a prosperous 2022!

I started on my new years resolution a month ago, which was to get serious about my business by going back to the WA basics! My other new years resolution is to post a WA Blog more frequently as well, I am aiming for every Saturday since we are starting 2022 on a one (hope that means its a relaxed year!). I would love to hear your feedback and if you comment and have a WA blog you want me to look at and comment on just message me!

I have been a member of wealthy affiliate here for so long it feels. Sometimes the progress feels so painfully slow. The main reason for this is not devoting time every day and also getting distracted with tangential things.

When I was learning about keywords I got obsessed with the rankings, I downloaded a program to analyze keyword rankings and agonized over that. I became obsessed with trying to learn every SEO trick and add these to every article. When I started the social media section I became obsessed with social media and felt I needed to learn all about how to get more followers and got distracted again with similar results.

Not to say all my time was wasted, working to support my family, spending time with my kids, taking internet and college business classes. All of these are valuable things. However these are not the problem.

Getting off on tangents (mentioned above), becoming overcome with depression when my dad and grandmother died, getting overwhelmed with all the bad news coming out of the media the past couple years, these are the things that have sapped my strength and damaged my focus.

A few weeks ago I asked someone in the WA chat why my keywords were not ranking very well on my website, fairycirclegarden.com . They seemed shocked that I had only gotten out 18 articles in 2 years. My reply was "Well I am very busy!" and "Yes but they are really good articles!" It took me a day or two to realize what a cop out that was.

I am done getting distracted with tangents, tricks, and unproductive thoughts! My advice to everyone is just stick to the WA training! If it says publish 3 short articles a week of 1000 words, do what it says! Don't listen to some SEO "expert" tell you your articles need to be 3000 words each and have this, that, and the other. KEEP IT SIMPLE!

I am now 100% committed to doing things the WA way. I sat down with my wife and we planned out our blog content publishing schedule for January. We are going to publish articles every Monday, Wednsday and Friday come hell or high water! We plan to publish more articles in the next month than we have in the last year and we are allready well on our way. Then keep that going into February and beyond for the rest of the year.

It is so easy to get distracted, so don't wander in the wilderness like I did. Get up in the morning, make WA the first thing you open, and make your website your main focus. People all over the world, get up, drive across town, work all day to make some company richer and then drive home to do the same again the next day!

When it comes to working on our own success however, sometimes it feels impossible to do the same thing for ourselves as we have done for others. From now on I will be working on my WA and blog for most of every day just as hard as I worked for all those other places my whole life. After just one month of making this my top focus I am more happy than ever before.
