2 Weeks In2 2022!

If you have seen my last 2 blogs then you know that after 2 years of "dabbling" with WA, I am making this the year that I give 100% to this business. Just like when I used to run almost daily in the Army, that initial boost quickly gives way to the "What am I doing, I can't do this!" attitude as difficulties and obstacles begin to mount. But the only option is to keep running forward anyway, even when it seems impossible.

As you know from last week I only hit 2 articles published out of my goal of 3. However this week I was able to publish 4, bringing me back to a 3 per week average. Even though I had to stay up pretty late last night to complete the fourth one! Here is my complete breakdown so far for all published articles on my website.

Those gaps are so painful for me to look at! Some were when I was working and going to school full time, some were me suffering with severe health issues (like bells palsy) while my poor wife had to deal with the kids, some were months of being depressed after my father and then a few months later my Grandmother died. No matter what the reason, that is not the way to make money in this business! As the training says, 3 articles a week!

The part that is much easier to look at is the 2022 section. In just 2 weeks my wife and I have completed 6 articles (while juggling work, school and 2 small kids as well)! 6 articles may not seem like much but they are a huge achievement for us. Especially considering we published only 4 in 2019, 11 in 2020, and 7 in 2021!

In regards to the difficulties and delays I alluded to last week, I heard back from 2 of the 3 affiliates I needed to, one just yesterday. This was great news because I was able to publish my 2 articles yesterday (women's and men's gardening boots) and I am on track to publish my next review article this upcoming Friday (about a monthly flower delivery program).

I am still a bit frustrated because one of my affiliates moved from CJ to an entirely different platform (Impact). Last year I had my first and one and only sale and it was from this affiliate, also that review page is one of my highest ranked pages (about garden statues). I spent hours to sign up for an entirely new affiliate network, had to wait over a day to be accepted, and here it is almost a week later and the affiliate has still not approved me yet, even though I was already approved with them on CJ, very frustrating!

Despite these frustrations I am optimistic due to the amount we have been able to increase our publishing schedule. Another awesome thing is that I was able to get an annoying problem with our website fixed. Every time an image was placed on our website it had a thin line border around it. This was not so bad for many pictures but the pictures with a white background (mainly the images for review articles) looked very wierd with it.

I spent about 3 hours this week researching the problem and then in the WA chat last night someone suggested contacting site support. They fixed it in just a few minutes! I am so lucky to have found this community and this platform and I am making the most of it from now on, no more dabbling!

Another awesome thing is I have really started to enjoy doing the website comments. I finally figured out the gravatar (not that hard once I actually focused on it, don't know why it took so long). So my new goal is to do at least 30 website comments a week as well. And I actually met my goal of getting this blog done on Saturday too, YAY!
