On the right track

Well it has been about three months since my last blog, so I thought it would be time for an update on how I am doing, well my visitors have risen to 156 for each of the last three months which to my thinking is a big increase from the 102 from my last post, with the session duration of my visitors having more than doubled in the same time. I have also now published 99 articles with a total word count of 105960 words.

The above information might not seem like a lot to some sites, but for my niche site (calligraphy) with its limited number of people interested in this hobby, these numbers are telling me that I am on the right track and there is a potential steady clientel out there.

Most calligraphy sites make their money from selling items and running a business and are well established, whereas my sites content is geared for the hobbiest or casual calligrapher where they can read my content, find links to other useful training content, videos etc on other sites.

I know that directing potential customers to other sites is not a good way to make any significant amounts of money, but the funny thing is that I am enjoying the researching, writing of new content and finding interesting calligraphic material that I can redirect others to.

I know I need to put more time and energy into the sales side of my niche, but for the moment I will continue to concentrate on the content aspect of the site for a while longer, before applying myself in to the sales side.
