The Unexpected WA Classroom in Site Comments
This week has been a bit slower for me on WA, but interestingly enough, it was after offering a site comment on another member's blog post that I recognized the need to re prioritize and attend to some very necessary duties that I had been putting off.
Procrastination
In reviewing the cost of procrastination in this very informative blog, there were necessary housekeeping ($-type housekeeping) details that had been piling up and needed attention, so it has taken some time away from WA, but for good cause.
As I haven't started aiming for traffic on my website, but paying more attention to content creation and design first, the delay is not too critical and what I had to do was necessary.
Truthfully, I have had to rethink many things about the website in progress and where I stand on social media before I launch and have been hesitant, but not procrastinatory...there is prudence behind this.
Prudence
Once upon a time there was someone within me who might have seemed courageous, but there is a difference between courageous and reckless.
Prudence was a word I had to look up when I realized how much collateral damage could result from plunging ahead when I am not 100% convinced that I am on the right track.
Prudence and procrastination are very different, although they might look the same on the outside. Life is a learning experience, and what was interesting for me in this process was how much more I have needed to learn about affiliate marketing and SEO in general in the process of building the site.
Site Comments - An Unexpected Classroom
What has helped in reassessing my own website is to provide site comments; I wish to thank the members of WA for participating in this valuable learning tool.
First, it takes guts to put your website or blog up for review.
Second, it allows the reader and commenter to really see the variety of approaches to website functionality and content generation in the process of learning from what you have to share.
There are so many unique ideas and presentations and I have been very impressed by your work, so pat yourselves on the back!
You, as members of WA, have led by example and, even though the niches were varied and not necessarily related to where my own was headed, the variety has been very educational and one even led me to clean up some life details that had been lurking in the corner.
In doing so, there was relief of some "in-the-back-of-my-mind" clutter that was actually contributing to some anxiety.
Back Drawing Board with Less Internal Clutter
So...after recognizing that sometimes first things have to come first, even if they are not as pleasant as writing, it is often that the tough stuff is completed that creativity can blossom forth again.
Creativity is not just something I can magically summon until I am thoroughly passionately convinced I am headed in the right direction and hadn't realized how much this unfinished business had been cluttering up the back of my mind.
Nothing is Wasted
So even if that means I have spent 7 weeks writing more than 200,000 words and starting websites over several times, there has been a lot of learning in the process and WA has certainly been valuable in that way.
It certainly hasn't been wasted effort, even if I choose another direction or to narrow down the one I had taken. All steps do not necessarily move us forward, but the important point is to keep on moving, adjusting our sails if need be.

A clear mind does make a difference. While worries lurk in the recesses it can be hard to focus properly.
It is a learning curve getting that first one up and running.
On the job training can be the best training that we can get.
