IPad injuries

Hi guys,

I'm popping into say hello and update you about my current injury created from holding an iPad without a proper stand.

Ever since last year of 2016 I've developed a Frozen Shoulder. I've had my iPad for three years and I use it every day. In fact we had to increase our usage to unlimited, I know, lol, yes, I love my iPad.

Anyhow, I went for acupuncture and the acupuncturist told me I had a Frozen Shoulder. I than decided to see a doctor about it, we did an ultra sound, and it was confirmed that it was a Frozen Shoulder.

A Frozen Shoulder is when the body decides to encapsulate a problem area with collagen, trying to protect the weak area from further trauma. (The body is an animal of its own.) Who ever named it as a, "Frozen Shoulder," knew what they were talking about cause it will not move past a certain point. And now my other shoulder is giving me trouble.

I did a bit of research about iPads and Frozen Shoulders and discovered that a lot of people are suffering from the injury due to the iPad. Not only iPads, but iPhones as well. It's much like having carpal tunnel in the wrist, but it's in the shoulder area instead. Not fun and it's extremely painful. (iPads and iPhones require you to hold the device resulting in placing strain on certain muscles, such as the shoulder area.)

So, if anyone else is experiencing this type of condition get a stand specifically for iPads. They do not cost very much and who knows could very well be a great niche idea.

My spouse noticed one yesterday while out shopping and that is what I'm using as of now, and thank God, it's working.

Happy iPad typing guys!

Becky

Thanks for this great heads-up Becky! I am sorry we had to find out this way. We will learn from your misfortune, unfortunately.

Recover soon!

Lynne

Your very welcome. I'm going to post another blog about what to do and not to do and the lesson I learned along the way.

The stand up stand sucks by the way. The case that is meant specifically for an iPad works the best. Packaging advertisements can be so misleading!

Thanks Lynne!

Kindest regards,

Becky

Oh! Good to know, thanks Becky.

Lynne

It's not that the stand sucks, poor choice of words. (Bad, Becky, lol.) I use the stand mainly for when I'm in the kitchen cooking while following a recipe online, watching a YouTube video or holding a book.

That's why we have to really know our products. And again, packaging advertisements can be so misleading. Ahem.

I enjoy both products, but one is specifically meant to be used for or more than the other depending on what your doing.

So, remember keep the IPad flat on a surface, never hold it with one hand while typing with the other for a long period of time, find a comfortable chair and remember to stretch every once in awhile.

Wishing you health and prosperity.

Becky

Thanks, I will pass this on to the family members who have them!

Lynne

One more thing Lynne,

Also ones that use their devices for gaming, also let them be aware as well.

Have a good one and enjoy your day off tomorrow if that should apply.

Becky

Thanks, you too, if this applies. Somehow, I got two days off, since one of my clients family members takes an alternative Labor Day off! I am a Caregiver for his mother, while he is at work.

Now, I may have time to make decisions for my website!

Regarding the iPads, even my 2 1/2 year old grandson is now using these, every day, for about one hour. Sometimes in the evening, even more time with dad! I am worried about this, but say nothing. Mom and Dad are aware and a little conservative, at least.

Lynne

An hour or two should not raise an alarm, but than I'm not 100% sure. It's good that mom and dad are aware of the conditions that can arise from too much gaming, swiping, tapping, holding the device for long periods of time and bad posture. Moderation is always a good thing!

On that note, my husband and I work together, argh, that's how it feels some days, lol. He arranged for us to have four days off, man, where does the time go? Not that I could not have not arranged the break, but just too busy working and maintaining life to think about days off, lol. So, I'm grateful for the rest.

We'll be back at it full force this coming Wednesday. (We've been off since Saturday - Monday's a given and Tuesday brings it all together.)

The website is a going concern, but very enjoyable. And yes, I agree, it really does take a lot of decision making when creating it. Slow and steady wins the race.

I admire people that join and within a month or two, they've completed the training, have an active site published and ranked on the first page of Google. It's really amazing, actually.

In the meantime we'll just keeping doing, my friend, we'll get there. It's nice to know we are not alone.

Before, I go, did you hear about the person in Wealthy Affiliate that likes to fudge around with Domaine names and that's she contemplating the idea as a niche? Brilliant!

If the domaine name is a good name, it can go for thousands of dollars. I think it's a great but not for me, since I struggle with Keywords as it is, haha, and not funny, lol! She made a sale of $32.00 so far. Not sure if it was for selling a domaine or something else, but good for her.

Enjoy your couple of days off Lynne, and thanks for informing your children about the concerns of too much iPad time.

Talk to you later, my friend. Pop in every once in awhile to let me know how it's going with you, ok?.

Becky

Oh! Very interesting about a domain name niche.

Thanks for your reassurances for my grandchild. This means a lot, since this is new territory for parents.

I will try to keep popping in once in a while and appreciate you asking! We've had a terrible heat wave and now the ash and smoke from nearby and faraway fires. I have had to work on my cooling issues, switching out ac, one for the bedroom, one for the main part of the home. I may get it right any minute! I cannot function well in the heat, so between going to work today and errands, ac units I have not accomplished much.

Glad you had some rest! Take care of the shoulder, maybe not too much writing. We do what we can and balance life differently everyday to see what works. Now that I am more settled things are falling into place.

By the way, I have had shoulder issues in the past. It really helped to give greater support with pillows at night. Place one between your rib cage and upper arm when on your side, the upper side. I am sure you are using proper care in all other ways.

Talk to you soon Becky,

Lynne

Best wishes :)

Thanks Carol. I've tested the stand up stand, it's not all that great, it's ok, but the iPad carry case works like a real charm. They both have similar jobs, but slightly different. I plan on writing another blog about it explaining why the stand is not the best, but is to a certain degree, lessons I've learned along the way with respect to building our online businesses.

Trust me, there is always something to discover and uncloak.

My shoulders are starting to feel better. Still a bit stiff, but with time, and common sense they will heal.

Have a good one and thanks for stopping by.

Kindest regards,

Becky

Wow! That's no fun at all. What's the cure, surgery? Glad youre seeking help with acupuncture and hope its helping.

Thanks for the update Becky. Sorry to hear this. Hope it all works out. Fingers crossed!

Thanks mark, no, I will not be having any surgery, yikes, lol, absolutely not! The iPad stand works ok, but the IPad carry case works the greatest.

I'm going to follow up with another post explaining the dos, do not's and a lesson that I learned from this experience.

Have a nice week - end my friend and talk to you soon.

Becky

Hi...I was wondering what happened to you! Good to see you pop in. That sounds bad. I hope it gets better.

Hey Swangirl, forget about me, lol, where have you been? I've turned off my email notifications, so it's great to hear from you.

Thanks for dropping into say hi.

I'm going to do another post relating to the injury and the lesson that I learned throughout.

Again, It's nice to hear from you and hope your doing great.

Becky

I have been here. I did several posts last week with pictures from our gorgeous drive in the mountains. You would like them.

I am learning about Amazon giveaways now and my husband has a job. Not the one we really wanted but a job is better than no job. He got the permanent position at the job he already has and has some leads on others.

Thanks for asking. I hope you are feeling better!

Swangirl,

Amazon giveaways, nice!

Sounds like your on the right track. I'm happy for you!

Yes, my arms and shoulders are feeling better, but precautions are still very real.

Thanks and will talk soon.

Becky

A problem when phone size migrated beyond the standard flip phone. Hope it can be treated. Get well Becky!

That's an understatement but so very real, Mike. I'm going to write another blog about the experience, how to avoid it, and the lesson I learned from it. It's all good!

Becky

Thanks for the info. I'm sorry that happened to you. I hope you get better. I've never heard of this before.

Yes, it's real and very painful. I'm going to write another post about it and what I've learned and how it applies to a product niche idea.

The stand sucks by the way. It has its good points, but the real deal is the original iPad carry case.

Kindest regards,

Becky

Wow, this is great to know and there are injuries associated with all devices. I will make sure I get a stand. Thank you Becky!

jetrbby, I'm not sure if you bought a stand, or not, but from my experience the stand sucks. The original iPad carrier works the best.

I now own both and love them both, but I prefer the original book style type that's specifically meant for iPads.

I'll post a blog soon probably tomorrow, (which will be Sunday) with further details, how to avoid this injury, what to do and not to do, (how it relates to building our online business,) and because this is something that you don't want to mess with, but can be corrected and avoided if done properly.

Sincerest apologies for the late reply, jetrbby.

Simplest and kindest regards,

Becky

Looking forward to read your blog post on this Becky. Thanks!

btw, my name is Kaju. You can call me that if you like.

Ok, I'll do just that Kaju.

Talk to you very soon.

I'm going to listen to some training as of now and I'll be using the iPad stand for that.

Later on in the day, I'll hopefully write the blog, and to do that, I'll be using the iPad carry case.

I have the best of both worlds at my disposal.

My arm is much, much, better Kaju, just because of these two great products.

Kindest regards,

Becky

Thanks awesome your arm is feeling better. Look forward to the post. Thanks Becky!
