Brent needs at least 1,000 votes to be in the top 10 to have a chance of being selected as a finalist in the New Zealand - E Tu Whanau Song Competition - the task was to compose an unpublished original song that 'inspires positive change' against domestic violence & bullying.

Brent dreams about being professional songwriter one day, but he no longer has a voice since a virus took his voice away when he was young... now this is his first song that he has had voiced and entered a song competition the task was to 'write an original 'unpublished' song to inspire positive change' stand up and say NO to domestic violence and bullying! (This is also NZ Music month)
I am really excited about paying it forward by introducing this 19 yr old young man. I him know personally, he went to school with my children and he dreams of being a professional songwriter. However when he was young he lost his voice to a virus and has been left with no real usable voice for the rest of his life.
This young man is also locked in a deformed body (resembles Cerebral Palsy) , he communicates with the use of technology and is frequently dismissed, often by 'well meaning people' who treat him as 'disabled' - and less worthy - he is simply unable to access meaningful employment and subsequently less able to engage in a meaningful and fully productive life and successful future'. My goal is to change this.
I however, see this young man as being en-abled to have and live a full and successful life and contribute to community of his choices in meaningful ways - he can also inspire and motivate others. Brent has composed a huge volume of songs and is on a quest to find the voices that may enable his to share his songs and finally his voice with the world. One of the songs Brent shared with me a couple of years ago he called 'breaking my heart' I believe this is definitely a song that can inspire positive change.
If you or you know someone who either lives with a disability, medical issue, or has experience of being in domestic violence or experience other abuse please show your support by clicking the link provided above to see the 4 minute video of the song and VOTE for change and SHARE this link with them as well.
(for people who fell this is spam - sorry - I feel is more inspiration)
