My Non-Financial Goals

HI ALL!

After completing course 1, lesson 2 (I'm still fairly new here), I just wanted to share some of my non-financial goals with you. I hope to inspire some of you who may be having problems writing down your goals in deep detail. I understand that this can be a very hard concept for some, but it is very simple if you just sit back and really think about where you want to be in the next 10 days, 30 days, 6 months or even a year from now. Don't hold back! "If you can dream it, you can do it!" So don't worry if you think your goals might be too out of reach, because even if you do not reach them, every step you take towards them is a success.

Without further ado, these are my personal non-financial goals for the following year;

10 DAYS:

  • Spend time with my new friend who is suffering with depression.
  • Spend time with my new friend who is currently feeling the weight of studying, working and the long-distance relationship with her partner.
  • Enjoy a nice relaxing evening with my fiancé (we both work completely different hours, so sometimes this is quite hard to do)
  • Organise my house (we have just returned from overseas and it looks a bit like a bomb has gone off inside it)

30 DAYS:

  • Road trip to visit family up north (my cousin has recently had a beautiful baby boy and I cannot wait to meet him!)
  • Work with my father-in-law on the farm (winter can prove very tricky to run a farm on your own.)
  • Improve my cocktail-making skills (the bar where I work is planning to open a spring/summer cocktail bar and I am not quite up to scratch.)
  • Get back to studying Italian (I use Duolingo and I love it!)

6 MONTHS:

  • Be at least 50% fluent in Italian (according to Duolingo :)
  • Join a local sport (I haven't participated in a sports group for almost 3 years...)
  • Take a trip away with my fiancé (it's nice to explore new places - even if they're just down the road!)
  • Give my in-laws a massive set of gifts (they have been so helpful and supportive in the last year as I have moved interstate to my partner's home town and we have bought our first house!)

1 YEAR:

  • Complete 80% of my diploma (I am currently studying a Diploma of Agriculture.)
  • Enrol in Wool Classing (next up on my studying checklist!)
  • Plan our wedding (My fiancé and I recently got engaged and I am so excited!)
  • Visit my hometown (which is now about 4000km away!)
  • Lose body fat (I haven't done a lot of intense exercise for a few years and would love to lose some of my love handles!)
  • Read 3 influential books (e.g. Arnold Schwarzenegger's biography, 5 Love Languages)

I am pretty happy with my list of non-financial goals, which only took me about five minutes to write down! I hope everyone else is having fun and opening their eyes to the world of WA. Feel free to comment your own non-financial goals as I would absolutely love to read about them! I am always curious to hear other people's experiences, so go ahead and leave a comment!

Jessica. :)
