Hey Everyone!

Kyle here from Wealthy Affiliate. Welcome to Beer with Kyle on this fine Friday as we welcome the month of May!

Today, we're diving into a common aspect of business dynamics: making and reverting changes...as frustrating as that may sound, it is an important part of business (and certainly something that we are not immune to).

Specifically, I want to discuss our recent adjustments and reversal concerning the starter dashboard on Wealthy Affiliate. It's essential to recognize that even well-planned changes might need revisiting as more data becomes available.

Key Takeaways:

  1. Evolving Platform: At Wealthy Affiliate, we're committed to constant improvement. Our goal is to streamline processes and enhance the user experience, making online business management smoother for you.
  2. Community Focus: Our community is the heartbeat of Wealthy Affiliate. We thrive on active participation, value exchange, and continuous feedback which drive our platform's evolution.
  3. Responsive Changes: We recently reverted changes to the starter dashboard, reaffirming our commitment to delivering value right from the start. This ensures new members can immediately see the full range of resources available.
  4. Continuous Learning: We have to embrace learning that comes from each modification, whether it's a forward step or a step back. This approach keeps our platform optimally aligned with your needs.

I’m excited to share more about our ongoing developments and how these contribute to your success. I am also going to give you a "fist look" at the affiliate program platform that is going to be integrated into Hubs. We are really excited about getting this into your hands.

Let's crack open a Hoyne Brewing Company beer and discuss further. Drop your comments, feedback, or questions below, and I’ll make sure to get back to you. :)

Thank you for a look ahead of the coming changes. It's nice to see that you guys keep an open mind about things and are not afraid to admit when changes don't go the way you expect them to. I also liked the idea of you doing a lot of the research for the affiliates about different ideas that could be incorporated into the websites. I think this will help people to expand their thinking on their particular subject.

We are always keeping an open mind, we get lots of great community feedback, and of course we lots of ideas and projects going on at any given time to further improve and evolve the platform here.

It's great to have awesome folks like yourself as part of the platform and community here at WA! :)

I was playing the HUBS starter videos while I was working on something else the other day. Since my attention was divided, I may have missed it, but are starters still able to set up a siterubix site? Or has that training been moved into the next set of lessons? I remember a list of what starters had access to (from a few months back ... maybe even 2023). Is there an update?

Thank you! Love Beer With Kyle ... its like wine with DeWine (Ohio's governor) :)

Starters build a Hub (limited) and with the Hub comes a .siterubix.com website, so yes they absolutely can. They are building an about me post as well on their website, and walked through the process of making money online within Starter.

When they want their own domain, back office access to their website, to unlock the entire hub, and to move forward beyond class 4 of the training, they will want a Premium membership. I hope this clarifies for you.

Really glad to hear you are enjoying this training. :)

Thank you for the update, Kyle, it's appreciated.

I can imagine that with a website as large as Wealthy Affiliate, you must be constantly testing things, and I guess a lot is trial and error. It seems like you're doing a great job, though.

The affiliate program revenue opportunities sound like a great idea. However, I can imagine there are quite a few technicalities involved in introducing this new feature. I look forward to seeing the feature in place.

Have a fantastic Sunday.

Roy

Some of it is certainly trial and error because the reality is that you often times don't know, until you have data or feedback to suggest whether or not something is an improvement, or something that you roll out has an adverse impact.

Live "testing" is a thing. Predicting something, or assuming something is never a way to accurately or effectively improve, and that is why you see us pushing platforms out sometimes, and then tracing back on our decisions once we have data to indicate that old way was better.

Glad you like the affiliate program platform as well, we are still polishing it and working through some of the more sophisticated stuff on the data side, but it is getting there and we look forward to getting it into everyone's hands. ;)

I can believe that Kyle, especially with the hubs, as the whole system is new and I know that you're trying to simplify everything. I'm sure that's easier said than done sometimes!

I guess it comes back to the old saying, "You don't know until you try"!

I'm looking forward to seeing the new affiliate program platform side of things; it sounds like a great idea. I hope you can roll it out without too many issues, but I understand these things are quite big and there is always more to it than meets the eye.

Have a great Tuesday.

Roy

Kyle, this particular post is fantastic. Thanks for the sneak peek. I finally checked out the further research tabs you referenced in your post and was blown away by the ideas they presented. I actually liked many of them more than the suggestions in the website structure ideas. I can see what you mean because they’re on the bottom and not so visible people have neglected them. I plan on making more use of those now that you pointed that out on your post. Thanks so much!

Yeah, tons of ideas in the Research area, they are currently just a bit hidden from the community here. We want to bring this value to the forefront, and allow for better management and make it a bit more interactive (allow for your user input), so this is likely where you are going to see this evolve.

Glad you found a new GEM within your hubs area! :)

Yes, it is awesome. Thank you for your constant dedication to make wa the best comprehensive service for affiliate marketers.

Absolutely Mark, this is our ongoing mission. Improvement, simplification, and help.

Hi Kyle!

Thanks for the update and the great explanation of what has happened and will be happening. Sometimes we have to go back to the drawing board. I hope all the new updates work out well.

Have an awesome weekend and a productive week ahead! Wishing you the very best!

Kind regards,
Nichola

Thank you Nick

Absolutely, and we are no stranger to going back to the drawing board, reverting releases, and even ditching projects in the late stages.

At the same time, lots of the things we do work really well on first roll out (sometimes that is the best), and we are quick to navigate and test out new ideas. All part of the fun of running a business, and staying very much "elastic" and open to change and new ideas.

You have said it all! 😍😀👍
