So this morning I tried randomly searching my latest post on Google search and the results? It ranked Top 5!*Cue falling off the chair* I wasn't expecting to get ranked. I just wanted to try it out and see. After all, my site trust was still at 0%. Was so happy that I went into in-depth analysis on what set this particular post apart from the other posts. Why did this latest post get ranked and not the others (or maybe they did but not in the Top 30)?

Here are a few things I realise I did unconsciously that set it apart:

1) The search term was the same as my permalink. In other words, placed keyword into permalink.

2)I wrote out the description of my images in the 'alt' text box. Say if it was a picture about anxiety, I wrote anxiety in the 'alt' text box.

3) I unchecked the default description box (which automates words from your post as a description to be shown when searched) and typed in what I wanted to be shown more explicitly instead.

4) I added my own keywords which I felt were relevant, even opposite, from the topic I was writing about. For example, I am writing about how I love cats. I would keyword love cats AND hate dogs. No offence to either species lovers. It's just an example.

So far the above are the few things I noticed and went on to change for every previous post I had , even the pages that linked around. It was a good morning.

However, all good things had to have a balancer and that's when I got an email from AdSense informing me that my application for ads was unsuccessful and that I have to correct a few things on my site. Once corrected I would be able to apply again. So back to correcting the errors I go...
