Taking on Mt. Mf

It's a picture perfect morning in Southern California. I'm sooooo happy my knee is rehabbed enough to do most of the 375 steps at the Baldwin Hills Overlook, which I affectionately and not so affectionately refer to as Mt. Mf. I have a brave friend on her way to join me. It will be her first time to take on this challenging endeavor.

I'm waiting for her while sitting outside at a table at the best she-she coffee shop in town. I'm drinking a large 1%, no sugar added, double shot, vanilla latte over ice. It's a beautiful thing, truly! I call it my own version of the "breakfast of champions" before hiking up the mountain, a mountain at least by L A standards.

later: after the hike

OMG! That was so HARD!! I feel great though! More importantly my knee is fine. Yay! My friend wants to start doing the hike with me on a regular basis. Good. Now I have a buddy to climb great heights with, literally! I started my nutritional plan too with Isagenix. I tried it a few years ago, and I really liked the products. The problem I had is that they only offered a shake with whey protein (dairy) in it, and after some time I couldn't tolerate the lactic acid. Now after long last they made a non-dairy, no-soy, vegan formula with green pea, and hemp protein concentrate! Yessssss! it's a dream come true! I was a little leary at first because typically the non-dairy shakes come out a little soupy and chalky tasting. This IsaLean Shake was "all that!" It was really good. It came out similar to a "Frosty" from Wendy's. The natural berry harvest flavor tasted amazing! It was so smooth and creamy, I could hardly believe it! I made it with filtered water, ice, a sliver of avocado for added creaminess, added a small scoop of IsaGreens, a green supplement, and citrus flavored want more energy? An electrolyte mix. The calorie count is 80 for the shake which also has 22g of plant based protein, 30 calories for the greens, 150 for the want more energy?, and my guess would be about 25 for that sliver of avocado which equals a grand total of 285 calories! And I'll only add the want more energy?for my first shake of the day. Not bad for a meal replacement! The beauty of it too is that it filled me up for a good 3 - 4 hours!
So, I can have 2 shakes a day with one 600 calorie meal and a couple of snacks, like a piece of fruit, a palm full of nuts, or I can cut up an Isagenix fiber bar (which almost makes me feel guilty because that thing rocks too) in 3 to 4 pieces and have that. I feel satisfied. And since ice cream is the bane of my existence being the most tempting food in the world for me, what better way for me to start and end my day than with a shake similar to a Wendy's Frosty? Perfect!
