Without this step, you cannot sign up. It is an issue with your device. You will receive a sms.

I checked my spam couldn't find anything and I tried signing in with a Google account but it's not working either
To be honest, I don't remember having to verify by phone, but it was a few months ago, so maybe that's changed.
I was just able to log in straight through my Google account.
You may want to get in touch with Fran, as they had the same issue. I am not aware of what they have done to solve it.

Meaning I haven't sold any affiliate products yet, but I opened my account about a year ago. If they do, can I open a new associate account? TIA
Hi - for your final approval, you need to make 3 sales in your first 180 days.
If you don't, then any links will stop earning commission.
You can reapply but will be given a new ID, and will need to change your links.
Hello Zahra! If you are an Amazon associate, Amazon gives you 180 days to be able to have a sale, after which will drop you if you didn’t establish a sale within that period.
Good thing is that you can re-apply again. So if your Amazon associate has been inactive for a year, you need to reapply.
