About YumaBloggers
Joined June 2014
I'm a proud father of 7 and husband of 1 since December 28th 2000. I love to blog and have been in network and affiliate marketing since January 2003. I love fishing, and walks in the park with the kids and look forward to getting the opportunity to take them all camping one day.

I have been a blog based affiliate marketer since January 2003 and helped build a search engine and social media hybrid along the way that had more than 3 million monthly visits on 600,000 unique users. All of this built on content and social media partnerships including my then daily blog MyViralBlog which is a strange feeling because it is now someone else blog.

In 2012 I had a collapse in both mental and physical health related to years of pulling 100 hour work weeks between a JOB and my home business. I lost just about everything except my strong and loving wife and 7 wonderful children.

I now have social anxiety and bipolar depression and don't go outside as much as I would love to do, instead preferring solace to crowds. My blogs have lacked consistency and thus a lot of revenue lost but I am getting better. Last September a day before my 43rd Birthday I went to my first Arizona Diamondbacks game the same day we clinched the Wild Card and Home Advantage for that game. It was liberating and my blogs are liberating and theaputic as I find my way back into the world.

Hi YumaBloggers, thank you for reaching out and can see your past experiences on your message. Life is such a roller coaster that none of us knows what is around the corner, it can be harsh and tough which bought on many side effects affecting our health and our financial security at the same time. Being down and failed is only part of the journey towards reaching out for success, one bad chapter isn't the end of the whole story on a book, never let discouragement and other's judgment and opinion affecting your dream and vision you want for your life to follow, with pains it makes you wanting to be stronger to overcome what is stopping you along your way towards the path for success. Looking forward to inspiring each other to keep going no matter how hard it may seem not to give up your dream and keep your hope alive to make it a reality to reach your goals. Let's learn together in this community and bring more success stories out for the world to see that nothing is impossible so long you make a commitment to yourself that I'm possible.

Hello YumaBloggers, thanks for the follow. It seems like you are well on your way back to the top of the heap. I will be tracking your progress. Best of luck to you in getting back all you lost. I have a a bit of a difficult path myself with opioid dependence which to my great relief cannabis is quite helpful in helping me stay clean and soberish. That is mainly due to the anxiety relief. If you live in a legal cannabis state, you might wanna consider trying it. It really gives me a lot of relief! Anyways, thanks for the follow and I’ll keep you in my prayers!

Hi Andy,
Thank you for following me. I'm sorry to hear about your anxiety and bipolar depression. My Niece was just diagnosed with bipolar depression. She's having a really hard time. She also has found blogging to be therapeutic.

I hope that things keep getting better for you. If there's anything I can do to help you, just hit me up on the platform. I'm new here, but I already feel like I have met some incredible people.

Keep in touch. I want to hear how you are doing.

Thanks, Barb. You will not find a more loving and supportive community online. Just the other day we had two members wrongly reported for SPAM and had their access restricted. Over 50 people went to bat for them and got their accounts unlocked.

Bipolar is a mess. It does, however, run in my family on my mother's side as both my grandmother and one of her sisters had it and likely my great grandfather and grandfather also as they were nice as can be one minute and abusive the next. I sought help because I could feel control slipping away and anger taking over. Many think it's something they can get past without help. I tell my story to help them

Hi Yuma,

I have known others in your condition and they have been able to, with therapy and medication, live normal and happy lives. You are absolutely not doomed to be like this forever. Taking baby steps like going to the game (although I'm not sure if going from solace to a crowd of 50,000 people is exactly a baby step) will bring you back.

I wish you the best of luck and know that you are very lucky to have the support of a great woman and 7 kids. Keep the faith.

And, by the way, nobody ever said on their deathbed, "Gee, I wish I had spent more time at the office".

Work / life balance is very important.

Thank you for the follow. And I'm now following you as well.

My niche is in Affiliate blogger Training with a focus on social media marketing and search engine optimization as traffic tools. Making money is easy when you learn to make traffic flow, the whole issue is time and consistency which I have lacked consistency since my breakdown. Affiliate programs exist for any niche market and you can create products in your niche as well such as Kindle Books or even more physical items with a little desire and effort too.

Thanks for a great response and hope you enjoyed Arizona.

Kindred spirit. Welcome back. Just remember this Andy; everyone who has ever succeeded has failed multiple times before they succeeded. My husband use to say that failure was just a stepping stone because we learn from our mistakes. Somewhere I read once that we have to be like children learning to walk. The only way they learn to walk is just to get up and keep trying to walk. Just remember to enjoy each day as it comes. Just taking a walk in the woods or a park can be so refreshing. What you experienced we use to call burn out. Seven kids is a huge responsibility I know. Have you thought about the possibility of growing your own food or building your own electricity generator?
These things would take some of the pressure off you. You’re going to make it though. You have vision and drive. Just pace yourself so you don’t burn out. Ok?

Hi,
Are you still involved in network marketing?I was wondering what you thought of it with doing Wealthy affiliate. To me the skills that we learn here would help anybody in any company.

Plus would they even be ahead here because they will always have something to blog about, using their products of their products. What is your opinion? I hope your health continues to improve.
Reply
YumaBloggers Premium
I am involved with network marketing and yes the skills learned here can and will help any business anywhere at any time. Affiliate marketing is the base of Network Marketing and MLM, Network marketing companies don't demand you pay for the right to promote them or order a minimum amount of product where MLM does, so be careful there because of most MLM folding because their business model is not sound and in many cases are borderline illegal. Herbalife had to modify it's program a couple years back because laws changed and they were facing a comply or close order. The industry gets stronger but has pitfalls.
Reply
phollett Premium
Dont you have to pay a fee in almost all network marketing companies and mlm.I am still confused as I thought mlm was network marketing.
Reply
YumaBloggers Premium
No the two are different. With an MLM most of the pitch is about the pay plan and not the product. You have to be a customer in order to earn compensation. With Network marketing you are selling products instead and don't have to be a customer to earn income. The only similarity is with both you create a downline of referrals you earn commissions off of or commission overrides from.

Good morning YumaBlogger. I read your bio and thought to my self, whee-burn out big time! I am a beginner to online marketing, I did try some affiliate marketing a few years ago but didn't have the time as my night job was too demanding so didn't do too much as was pooped after work and stressed from working with rude people. It's nice to check WA in the mornings. I'm glad you have a loving wife and kids, she sounds like a supportive woman. I have a girlfriend like that, and we are hopeful to get married in March, Lord willing. I "retired" early from Salida High School as a night custodian, at age 61 but feel young and energic more than ever. Glad I'm not on a time clock anymore.

Yes, it’s quite a journey. With Cancer, 2 Strokes, Heart Valve replacement, Aorta replacement plus other things what I put in my body has a great impact on my well being. The cancer I am treating naturally, no chemo, no surgery, no radiation, only diet. To keep my mind calm I do some meditation and exercise, and for me that is a big challenge. The saying “you are what you eat” has really been true for me. Getting rest also allows my body to heal.
So my friend, keep positive and if there is any help I can give you just ask.
Health is a constant battle needing all the resources I can muster. For me it consumes a lot of my thinking time and I have to constantly work at keeping on top of it.
You sound like you are getting a hold on your life and WA can help in giving you direction. Enjoy your journey,

Andrew, I want to apologize if you felt I was being overly negative about Webtalk. I am just cautious about those on here who have barely started not at a position such as yourself. I have been in Networking groups way before social media started and saw new programs coming on every day and enticing members away before even getting any momentum in their present group. Just presenting honestly an opinion. Ever since my presence has been noted I get invites every day but at my age retired no way I want to keep adding anything. In my consulting business, it's ridiculous the number of offers for advertising hitting my clients daily, so I am always watching their budget and ROI, and their expectations even if free. Take care

I fully understand. I have been in online marketing since 2003 and spent 14 years prior to that in management and entrepreneurship and know full well how a person can get bombarded with distraction. Just having multiple domain names I get calls nearly every day offering web design or SEO, directory listings, and advertising management. I see over 200 scams a week and have seen more than my share of failed social networks.

My specialty though is in social media marketing and management and while too many affiliates see Webtalk as a threat to Facebook it is actually more aligned to take early market share from LinkedIn with far more business focused tools. I have been watching the developments and these people are if anything too cautious, wanting near perfection before taking the bubble wrap off on the finished product. They have millions of dollars riding on the project and have been moving in the tech circles for 8 years building up investors and developing proprietary systems while racking up numerous awards.

It's my firm belief that regardless of the exact market share captured Webtalk joins the top 4 social media networks in 5 years or less. I see them as powerful tools. A chance to get in and be a network influence from the early stages and build authority for my blog and business. It does the work of other media which allows me to focus more time on it and still accomplish my goals so if anything I can simplify my social networking instead of adding more to it.

No offense taken, you are cautious and focused which is admirable.

Thanks for the reply and communication. Since you have been here longer than I have, should these things be more carefully discussed because of the policy of spam here at WA? Opening the door even slightly will embolden others to discuss other opportunities. Just a thought based on policy

I am a Libra but had a Leo for a dad and some of the roar rubbed off. I have always been a fighter, especially if a cause seems unjust or unfair, I fight the odds to tilt the scales. Maybe that's where the Libra kicks in. I do however owe a world to my wife, she is a caring mother and loving wife and has stood through so many trials as 2 of our kids have mental health issues as well. I would nominate her mother of the year every year in any town worldwide.

LOL definitely will. I am not ashamed of my political opinions but I know one thing, I am not going to shame a person for theirs because of what CNN says etc... We should all be more mature than that. I like Trump, he's a wizard at fixing our broken economy, has a massive plan for border and national security, and there is nothing racist about enforcing the laws we already have... America is better on any day today than it was any time in the days of the past administration.

Andy, there's always a way to come back. We have to reach way down inside and pull out that self confidence and put it to use. Most of us go through valleys in our life, but we don't have to stay there. I know sometimes, it's easier said than done.
But when you've been through a deep valley, and you come out on the other side, looking back, you're a better person for it.
We become stronger, and a good result of that is we can help someone else who has been through something similar.
I'm pulling and praying for you and your family. I feel the hurt.
Give WA a go at it. I think you will be well pleased.
The training is great, and the support is superb.
Have a great day,

Just remember that first commission may be small but when you earn one you can earn another and scale up until you have a business. Just learn from every action, be ready to make minor changes to tactics, and always test to see what is working and what isn't in your business marketing and you will do an amazing job.

My family is my greatest pride. Without my wife and kids, I would have likely folded years ago. They keep me strong. It took a fair bit for them to get my meds right. I was on meds before that left me shaking so bad I couldn't open a can of soda at times if I was even 30 minutes late on a dose. I pray you have been or are on a path to recovery yourself as so many fail to even ask for help because of how society perceives those with mental illness.

Hello Andy,
You and I are very similar in many ways. I had a massive
heart attack at 53 years old. The dr said you had a massive
heart attack but only minor heart damage. So I get a triple
by pass. Continued on as if nothing happened. In July
2010 I had another attack. This time the Dr. said I needed a
stint. Woke up 5 days later and told my heart stopped
beating 5 times. Had to be shocked back to life. In 2014
was told everything had fallen apart. Left with one artery
keeping me alive. Then I was told by 2 cardio doctors
that nothing could be done for me. now my physical
and mental condition has me just hanging around.
I am now 76 years old, still able to do many simple
jobs at home. Still mow my yard and such. I very much want
to get my WA business going . I just can not seem to
understand what I am supposed to be doing.
Thanks a lot.

Good Morning,

I maybe should not write this. Many folks
say do not talk about a mental or physical condition.
I am not complaining. I am very thankful that I am
still alive. July 2010 I had my second heart attack
Went to hospital. Then to op room for a stint.
Four days later I was told my heart stopped 5 times
Had to be shocked back to life each time.
I am still alive in 2018. Now the rest of the story
is this. My short term memory has never returned.
If something like doing the learning part of WA
teaching, I get stuck trying to remember what I just
finished doing. Very frustrating. I could tell you all about
growing up, 70 years ago, but not something I did
yesterday. I did all my auto repairs and many other
things. Now I have to hire someone to do those things.
I am still blessed to be here. So I just continue with
doing my best to keep up in the WA community.
Hoping and praying for a full recovery for you.
I do believe that will happen.

Your memory sounds like mine with all these medications they have me on. The current is spotty but I can remember details from when I was age 2. Go figure. My dad had a bad heart, had a triple bypass his first time and went back twice more for stints. When he passed on he was operating on his 6th year of less than 10% heart function. Being late in life and having been a smoker most of it they simply would not add him to a transplant list and said the defribulator they installed was about all they could do. He was a survivor, you're a survivor, and I damned sure will recover from this.

Empathy is the first step to understanding. Once people recognize these issues are real and that they can help we start winning the war on mental illness. I speak out because I get tired of hearing that Bipolar isn't real that I am just using social anxiety as a reason to be unemployed etc.. It is real and it's crippling but I will not be treated as a silent victim.

Andy, so right!!
Writing is therapy, and give an objective perspective, of any personal situations.
Nothing, happens, by mistake, is my belief...all fits right into the pattern, whether, we like it, or not.
Powerless, leads us to change, if we listen, and accept.
Get back, you r groove, Andy! Somethings, in life, we're camping...sometimes, we're journeying.

Therapy for many, as writing a journal has been one of the most well-known steps to recovery. In writing a blog that journal comes to life for others. Don't be silent, speak out if you have bad thoughts about yourself, feel sad but don't know why, feel out of energy all the time, or have no zest for life.

Andy! ...Turn on some good happy music!! Raise, your vibration!
Try an A-to Z list of things you appreciate! This little exercise, can take me into a very pleasant sleep, which is soo, important for our overall, disposition. I take each day as a new project!... Problems, are just projects, or mysteries, I need to solve, and time, and actions, when needed, are necessary. Somethings, just take time, Andy.
I just re-read your profile, and when in Solace...one must watch how much time, we spend thinking about, and worrying, about "Me, Myself, and I"... Make yourself, get out, and help another person!! Works, wonders!!

There is a famous quote from Mark Twain:

"If it's your job to eat a frog, it's best to do it first thing in the morning. And if it's your job to eat two frogs, it's best to eat the biggest one first."

And that just means - do your hardest task first or at least as soon as you can in the morning. If you do this then the rest of your day is easy from there!

ANYWAY…

Hi Andy/ Yuma

Thank you for the following glad you did. I'll follow you too. Keep at it, keep going. The one great thing I can tell you is that to many, Bipolar is a big gift that some wish they had. I tell you no lies here.

Moreover, the first step to healing is closure. The one thing that will turn weeks of depression into days, then a day, then an hour till it reaches a moment at a time and before you know it, once a year and possibly none at all in the future.

Bottom line, we are all here on this earth to evolve.

Everyone is a genius. Just find that part and you're good to go. If Einstein could speak right now, I'm sure he'll tell you all about bipolar and the best of it.

Richard Brandon, has yet a story to tell. So don't fret it anymore. You've chosen the right you.

Some pretty stellar people have had Bi-Polar, like singer Demi Lovato who speaks openly about her battle with it and social anxiety which I also have. It seems they go hand in hand as when one feels ashamed of themselves and the person they are it is hard to face a world that often judges you based on actions. For me, it is my sudden angry outburst I fear most in public places. I know it is beatable though so I keep fighting.

Between my blogs and my brother taking me to my first live Diamondbacks Game last September, I am finally starting to look for work again. I need some training and it will take time to find a job in a small office type environment but I will be back in the public setting again soon. Depression is a bit harder, especially when it combines with the angry outburst because sometimes you are sad or angry and just don't know why.

Support of family and community are great and with it I get better every day, so thanks for being a part of the journey to wellness.

Thanks and thank your brother for his hard work on his own journey to wellness. Bi-polar strike one in 3 adults they say. Most mildly but for some of us, it is almost crippling. For a while, I was homebound out of fear of ridicule and have only in the past year really pushed myself to be out in the public more. I am betting with his Bi-polar also comes a degree of social anxiety and that feeds the anger and depression of the condition. Cure the one the other becomes more manageable. Thanks for your friendship.
