Windows 10 Upgrade Issue

My laptop seems to have a built-in Artificial Intelligence and a mind of it's own....(pretty much like me)

I'm saying this because as of this morning, it decided to automatically and all by itself upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 10. I don't really have a problem with this, because, now I can actually find a Windows Start button, and it makes it a little easier to find my applications, that I use on a regular basis...

However.....(there's always a "however" to every story!)....there's a known bug with Windows 10, which can be a bit annoying. And, the issue is that once you have upgraded your OS to Windows 10, you will notice that your display screen is significantly dimmer than you are normally used to! And, no, if you were thinking, like me, that your eyesight is waning, no, its not.

The problem is that once you update your Windows version, your Display Adapter device Driver (the software which controls your internal graphics) defaults to the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. And heron lies the problem, because it isn't the correct version for your make/brand of your laptop/PC.

What you will need to do, is head on to the "Device Manager" Application (Search for it on Windows 10) Then Navigate to "Display adapters", from there, Right Click on the "Display adapter" then select "Update Driver software".

You may need to select the Option that says; "Search automatically for updated driver software"

Once Windows Updates the correct version of your Device driver, you should be able to have a nice bright screen once again!

I hope this may help anyone that's either having or had this similar issue. Now, if only I can train my laptop to make me a cup of coffee and bring me a donut!
