When will Google find your site?
Is Goolge looking for your posts?
The short answer is YES!
But...
You need to help it.
I wrote a post about this a couple of months ago but have seen several questions asking how long it takes Google to find and index a post so maybe this will help.
New niche, new site
A couple of months ago after working on a site for 6 months, I switched niches, from necessity (that's another story). It's a very specific niche for which I can do no keyword research and only minimal SEO and I've been writing one post of around 300 words per day.
If you're insanely curious - or just insane :-) - PM me and I'll send you a link.
I submittd a sitemap and after each post, I fed the URL to G.
The point is, after about 4-5 weeks of these daily posts, G was actively looking for new content. I'd post in the evening, submit the URL to G in the mornign but 9 times out of 10 I found the URL was already in G.
So regular posts, even of extremely unoptimised content STILL get G's attention.
Now there is a difference between getting Indexed and getting Ranked. I'm not expecting to get ranked for much and traffic will be coming from social media.
But if YOU are writing good content with good keywords and SEO then you shoudl also get ranked (although ranking usually takes a little longer than indexing).
Again, the point is, you WILL be found by G and you WILL get indexed. Publishing content regularly will help enormously. Otheriwse, just follow the training and don't worry :-)

It is getting our posts out there regularly that keeps Google interested in us!
Good luck with your unique niche site.

It can certainly seem like it! :-)
But the point is, if you post regularly, even unoptimised content, G will seek you out! :-)

This is interesting to me...I get indexed fairly quickly...just that ranking is not on first page yet...but I don’t expect it based on frequency of my posts.
But, the frequency of my posts are more often than it was before the beginning of March.
I wish you well with this!
Bob
Thanks, Bob.
Yes, indexing and ranking are totally different. Indexing means that G knows your post exists. As explained in my post, that WILL happen.
Ranking is based on keyword and SEO and, to be honest, there's no guarantee at all tha posts will be highly ranked. As you go on, you'll see that some posts are ranked well but others are not ranked at all. That's the way it goes.

Yes, I agree. Posting regular content is important. Your potential to rank will improve if your posts are longer than 300 words however. Say 1000 or more. I try to make mine in the 1500 + range as this seems to be the amount that the sites that are at the top of the SERPs contain 1500-2000. Tom
Absolutely! For 'normal' sites you need to aim for 1500-2000+ blog posts. On my previous site they averaged 3500+
That's not possible with my niche :-)
But that's a good goal for getting ranked.
However, my post was intended to illustrate that even unoptimised and short posts WILL get indexed (not ranked!) if you post regularly.
Just a heads-up for newbies.

Fear nothing! Just keep going and things will start falling into place.
All the best

Good information. A lot of newbies get that index and rank, confused. Really not confusing I did the same at first.
Have a great day!
Thanks, James.
Yes. I posted this to encourage newbies to just 'ploff on' and not get overly concerned about getting indexed, although I know that's difficult :-)

Thanks for the share Ian. Good to know.
Google WILL find you. Whether you like it or not :-)
