We have a domain name that we already own, my question is how do I move it to WA. I don't even remember where I purchased it at. How can I get the information that I need to move it to WA?

Thanks in advance

Brenda

Well looks like I was late to this party! You've got the information you need and it is all correct. I moved my domain name and I too forgot where I bought it from. DAH! Notes! Have to take notes! It only takes a couple of days to have the DNS codes point to WA.

Brenda there is a tutorial on how to do this. Click on Build my website, above the create a new website button you will see the Domains tab, and if you click on that you will see "point a domain you own to Wealthy Affiliate", and there is a link to the tutorial. You may already know this, but just in case.

Watched it and got it I think, it takes 24 hours. So we will see tomorrow night.

It shows an IP address

I just found out something when I typed my domain in that is pointed to WA. It says my hosting is Amazon at the
Site http://www.whoishostingthis.com/
That is weird...
Oh Well....

You will need to find out where you purchased it so that you can point it to WA. The company that you bought from will usually help you do this. This information is usually available from 'whois'
In the google URL bar type in WHOIS domainname.com (or other extention) I got correct information on my site from www.domaintuno.com It gave my email address and who is hosting the site, among other things

Thanks, going to check it out.

I think you can go here and find out the host. You should at least know the domain. http://www.whoishostingthis.com/ Then you can go to the hosting and maybe since you don't remember maybe contact them to find out sign up name and password and point it to WA Primary Nameserver: ns1.mywahosting.com
Secondary Nameserver: ns2.mywahosting.com
I think that is what you are asking.

Yes Dave that is what I am asking. I will check them out.

Brenda, on whois.net you scroll all the way down - the hosting info is almost the last

There you can find out what you need to know. Of course you should remember the domain name :-)

Yes I do pepperidgeholdings.com

Hi Brenda there are instructions here on how to move your domain from NameCheap or Godaddy.com, but I'm not sure how you do it if you don't know where you bought your domain. Sorry.
