Regarding promoting your campaigns in Facebook
OK, for the last 8 days I have focused on social media, like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc and a lot of my time as been taken up learning how to market within those sites.
Just getting the brand out there!
With creating campaigns in Facebook and Twitter, using Hashtags images posts etc.
Storing everything in spreadsheets and word documents
Now if anyone has created posts in Facebook and in this case Facebook pages, not that this matters at all, then you will notice popups and emails from Facebook trying to get you to "Boost" a "Post".
I have never paid for Facebook advertising so I thought I'd give it a try and it cost me very little money to try it out.
Facebook is very good informing you how things are going etc etc.
Well last night when I was sat in the lounge and Susan was on Facebook she noticed that the post I'd "Boosted" was in fact on her Facebook Timeline, not once but 5 times.
Why it should be on their in the first place is beyond me!!
Now I don't know about you but I leave friends and family out of all this unless they want to know more about it (Affiliate marketing that is) so to see this happening really annoyed me. To the point that I won't be paying to boost a post anymore!
Just what actually happens when you create an actual Ad and where it gets posted is beyond me.
I am guessing that a lot of my friends have the same post on their time-lines which is beyond a joke.
Just think next time you think of letting Facebook "Boost" a "Post", just where is it going?

Very true Mick. We experienced this with our first two businesses that we grew exclusively on social media. This prompted us to start a new facebook account so it did not crossover to our personal sites.
I also didn't want my political posts on social media to turn away half of the potential clients so that was another reason to keep it separated. Plus, I am pretty sure potential clients don't want to see me drinking a beer watching a baseball game.
Anyway, I highly suggest using a separate account for your business on all social media platforms especially if going to utilize paid advertising.
Hey Craig, you have a very good point there.
My intention was to create new accounts but thought to start from scratch is going to take forever to build a following.
I have checked my Facebook account for any dodgy posts etc and there might be some but way down somewhere.
Saying that though Facebook has been extremely cheeky allowing you to think that your posts are going somewhere else other than your "Friends"
I mean seriously why do they do that?
This to me is a "SCAM" and a total waste of my time and money and if it wasn't for Susan then I'd be oblivious to all this and might have just carried on "Boosting Posts"
Absolutely is a scam. They won't show your posts to everyone so you have to boost. That should be a crime.
With that said. You don't have to build a following. You have a separate account that you use to place ads, and to boost posts. You can narrow your target audience sending to certain demographics that have shown interest in a certain thing (ie. work from home opportunity) and believe it or not, it worked flawlessly for our first two companies. The return of investment was well worth paying for the scam.
Whether it works for WA, I haven't tried yet. But I will definitely begin soon.
Thanks Craig, I am onto it now!
