Out of a Job

Happy New Year to the wonderful community here at WA. As 2015 was drawing near an end; feeling pretty good for what I had accomplished with my new world of online marketing; my life was shaken. Thankfully I did not loose a loved one, but almost lost my job.

I am sure you have heard on the news about the Midwest flooding. We had 3 1/2 days of constant rain. When it finally stopped and the sun came out we all sang praises. Then things got bad fast. That is when the rivers started to rise, roads were getting shut down, and the water getting closer and closer to my place of work. Missouri had record breaking floods.

When the rain stopped we saw the business across the street starting to sandbag. We thought they were crazy. That was until the next day when we arrived at work to see the building across the street starting to flood. We are about a mile from the river so I never thought flooding would occur. We were told the owner of our company built up the property 4 ft higher so the owner did not need flood insurance. As the water was rising almost a foot an hour we started to panic. We joined forces and started to sandbag praying the water would stay back. If our company did flood we would all be out of a job. The owner would not be able to recoup from it.

I am thankful that I have a backup with WA, but sad that my steady, reliable flow of income would be gone. Advance to the next day all the ways for me to get to work were closed. Stuck at home I should have worked on WA training, but my mind was so far from working on this. Prayers were answered and the river started to reread the work place was saved. When I was relieved from that stress I got a call that my parents were getting sewage backup in their basement. Needless to say the past week was busy and really puts things into perspective. Counting my blessing that our home was not effected, there are so many that have lost everything. Very sad!

So I'm donating anything I don't need or things I have extra of to those who now have nothing.

Count your blessing, be thankful for the small stuff and any goal you accomplish. Keep pushing forward and never give up.

Peace!

I feel very sad that you have been through so much but then sometimes things happen for a reason -

Yes I'm true believer of that. I have always been known as the one to roll with the punches and keep pushing forward. Hope things are going great for you.

trying but three steps forward and two back - you know I am sure

I'm glad to hear your company location was spared. Yeah, these things are terrible.

Most of us are more fortunate than we realize.

Thanks Chris, we are all happy that we were spared. Driving through town seeing those gutting out the inside of their businesses and homes is sad. So we are counting our blessings.
