Significant Pagespeed Improvement By Just Changing A Theme!

Okay, I'm not a website developer and I'm pretty bad with the backend thing that's happening on websites.
I have been mulling about my website's pagespeed for a few weeks now - especially for mobile! I've tried reducing the size of all my images and I didn't see much improvements (also just realized the difference between .png files to .jpeg!)
So I contacted WA's support over this and they mentioned to contact my theme's developer as some CSS things were slowing down my website.
I took one of the free themes so I don't think I were able to contact the developer...

So the first thing I did was to see what was the #1 theme that Kyle recommended in the training = GeneratePress
I went to Google and did my research and turned out that a lot of users have vouched for GeneratePress too..
I then tried their free theme and figured that I might as well buy the premium as it was only $49 and you can basically use them to unlimited websites.
I activated it tonight and my Pagespeed was SO MUCH BETTER!
My mobile speed was 50% faster! (yes the previous theme was apparently really slow!)
Moral of the story is...
