I'm a big fan of bleach as a cleaner and disinfectant, but be careful what you mix it with.

I'm no chemist, but like other chemicals you can create a hazard when mixing different chemical cleaners together, including irritation to the eyes, throat a and nose.

Stick to applying only water to it and you'll have a great product that's really cheap to buy.

Absolutely true and I think that should be rule of thumb. Keep bleach as bleach.
For example. Mix bleach with ammonia and you create a very nasty chlorine gas which in its mildest form will irritate the throat and lungs. Chuck some water in for good measure and you might be lucky to make it to the ER...
