My Wealthy Affiliate 6 Month Checkup
I joined Wealthy Affiliate (WA) in February after doing a lot of research into affiliate marketing and niche websites. It seemed like the best option for me because of everything that was included. I could build a website, take courses, research keywords, and connect with a community of like-minded people, all by using the same service.
So far, I have been pleased with the experience. I have made it through the first two courses. I now have a website (www.italianyourway.com) that has four pages of content and 4 blog posts. Have I made any money from the site? No, and that's okay.
My goal was to see an idea through to completion. I have the habit of coming up with a lot of new ideas, but not sticking with one long enough to see any results. Building a website and staying with the WA courses have helped me focus and realize that I can complete an idea. I've also learned a lot and have been inspired.
Challenges
The hardest challenges for me in building the website and utilizing WA have been time and motivation. I work full-time and I commute 50 miles each way to work. I spend most of the day staring at a computer screen. When I get home, I am mentally exhausted. The last thing I want to do is look at another computer screen.
I do most of the work on my website and the WA courses on Friday afternoons, after I get off of work at noon, and on Saturday and Sunday mornings. On average, I only spend 3 hours each week here on WA. I know in order to really succeed, I'll need to spend a lot more time, but right now I am okay with a slow and steady pace.
Goals
I plan on writing another blog post for my next 6 month checkup. When I do I hope to, scratch that, I will report the following:
- I've generated $50 in passive income;
- Italianyourway.com has 5 pages of content and 10 blog posts;
- I've started creating a new niche website; and
- I've completed 3 more courses, including a live training.
Feel free to call me out if I don't hit these goals! I've purposely made them public to create pressure and accountability.

Awesome goals! Keep up the dedication and stay committed to them and it's almost guaranteed that you'll succeed. I checked out your website and it's really nice! You should add it to your profile so everyone can see it. I can see big things coming from your website. Keep spending as many hours as you can on it and it will start bringing in money.
I work a full time job too. I'm a little fortunate because I can spend 2-3 hours on it at work on my downtime. I'm a security guard/front desk attendant right now.
Well hope you continue with your success and you'll see. An internet business tends to have snowball effect! If you know what I mean.
