Help! i'm freaking out!
Oh mannnnnnnnnnn, I'm really freaking out right now, I've started building my 1st website in bootcamp and I was doing some research on google and found my WEBSITE listed. I'm completely wigged out over it because I thought it would not be on the internet until I okayed it to be listed or something like that! I wanted to finish it before people could see it, or at least get it to a presentable stage! But what is really freaking me out the most is that someone else has written a description under the website name in the google search results to describe what the website is about and I DID NOT WRITE IT! It sounds ok, but I did not write it. What can I or should I do about this situation, any and all comments will be greatly appreciated, my heart is pounding away right now worrying about this! HELP!
UPDATE: OK, my pounding heart has slowed down considerably now, with the help of my friends below, thank you guys and gals, my panic is abated for now! Shewww, that was kind of like my first bowkill on a whitetail deer. Except I was younger and in better shape then! I never dreamed having my own website would lead to a reaction like this, WOW!

The exact same thing happend to me.I'm still not done with my site but i just let it go. No need to over stress. But i was surprised when my site came up and like you said, it had a description under it that i didn't write. You'll be fine:)
I wish I had your attitude, I'm much calmer this morning now that I slept on it, lol! Just part of learning something new and different....You know, that is the great thing I suppose about this business, it keeps you on your toes and is not boring by any means! :)
Well I'm happy to hear your calmer today.Try not to let the training and business get you worked up, I also panic at times but i step away take a deep breath and try to find the solution and if you cant then there's so many experienced people here at WA that are more than happy to help. I remember our first website, got it all ready and then couldn't figure how to get it online.Asked around and was told that it was already was and had been since we published our first changes to our template lol
We were a bit freaked too, but at least we were spared the knowledge that it was online while we were building it. I feel for you...it's all good though probably at the stage it is at only a few people will see it. so not to worry.. In the training Kyle mentions to publish things as you go along.
You do make a good point of not many people seeing it and Kyle did say to publish each page as you write it. I did not publish my about me page yet because I wasn't sure I was done with it yet so I kept it in private mode for now. The only thing published is the privacy policy, lol!
Hi, I hope you've managed to fix it, I'm also hiding one of mine at the moment, while reconstructing it. Pro2100 has a good advise, aside from dch1959.

As soon as your site is published it is on the big wide web and search engines can find it. Google will make up there own description base on what the find on the site and any meta tags you may have placed on the site.
Ok, is there anyway to hide it out until I want it out there, or is that a ridiculous question, I'm pretty naïve about this business? I really appreciate your quick response, Russell. Thank You!

Instead of clicking publish, click on save draft when you are writing or working on your site. It will not be made public until you click publish. The post or page you have published is out there now and you can't bring it back.

No doubt about it, I had no clue about discouraging the search engines from indexing your website, great information to know, now whether they honor it is another matter!
