Target Audience
So, I'm trying to build an audience behind affiliate marketing, specifically, getting started in the field of affiliate marketing, and I'm having a bit of trouble making up my customer avatar. I know what I looked for in getting started in affiliate marketing but I don't have the slightest idea as to how to start researching the specifics of an affiliate marketing audience. It's a shame to be one and not know what to do research on exactly but:
What is the age demographic of affiliate marketers because, from my experience, it's a broad demographic; not just 20 and 30 year olds.
Personal information about the audience, I'm sure, is pretty generalized considering there are so many different people looking to get started in this niche with so many different variables to their personality so I'm not too concerned about that but I'm still curious as to what I could, or should, put.
I've been going through the Bootcamp training and it's helped a bit but I feel like it kind of bounced around the issue that I'm having; not intentionally but more so in a way that allows the viewer to come to their own conclusion of what they should do moving forward. I'm trying to start my blog off correctly and hit the ground running, as I'm sure I've mentioned in many posts before this one. I'm trying to avoid over-thinking the situation and just dive in to get started, just optimize my content as need be as I go along, but I still find myself hesitating before I can make any moves that actually make a difference. Any advice, suggestion, or anything of the sort that anyone has to spare, feel free to share. I could use every bit that I can get.

Hey William,
You're right that people who may potentially be looking into affiliate marketing come from all walks of life. They can range from current students and working professionals to homemakers and retirees.
How I personally profile my target audience is based on the situation that I'm in, because that way I can relate best. So I think of my target audience as people who are trying to make an income from home. This way, I understand their needs and concerns.
But as I build up my website, I find that it attracts a much larger audience base than what I originally intended for, especially as I started writing product reviews. So maybe you can start off defining a specific group that you have a good understanding of, and then see where it leads you.
Hope this helps. :-)
DEFINITELY!!! I’ve come up with a niche I’m going to dive into first but I’m going to develop a calendar first when I wake up in the morning. Of course, I have a big overall idea for the calendar but I apparently work backwards so I have a lot of research to do when I wake up along with freelance ventures, posting my first blog (aside from the Welcome post), and much much more lol
Always love your positivity and determination!
