The Dumbest Question Is The One Never Asked

Sometimes it can seem intimidating when you find yourself surrounded by experts and knowledgeable people who have a presence that exudes a sense of superiority or authority.

I often wonder is it because one is projecting a feeling of lack that crushes humility creating a sense of false pride? Or is it because there are times when people in authority abuse the power they have been given?

The reality is it's most likely a combination of factors, some of them you can control and some of them you can't.

One can not control the attitude or behavior of another, but one can control how one "reacts" to any given situation.

Taking that a step further, one can "act" in ways that deflect arrogant attitudes, defuse intimidation and create an environment of understanding.

Intimidation begins within oneself, it stems from a feeling of lack that is reinforced by others reacting to those outward projections which cause a deeper feeling of lack and so it becomes a vicious circle spiraling into poor self esteem and sometimes into bullying.

When one is caught in that trap even some of easiest ways of breaking free become obscure and meaningless. Feelings of ignorance become torture-some as fear of failure dims ones inner light.

I honestly believe this is why so many people fail, even when they have everything they need to succeed.

I know that may have sounded extreme, I meant it to.

Have you ever been afraid to ask a question because you thought it would make you look ignorant and people would laugh at you? Here's the kicker you are asking that question because you are ignorant, not because you are dumb!

Ignorance is just a lack of knowledge nothing more nothing less. It simply means you do not know and there is no shame in not knowing. Every expert, guru, authority figure, so on and so on, were ignorant at one time.

No one is born knowing anything!

We all have to learn. Don't let fear or intimidation prevent you from discovering your true potential!

Embrace ignorance as an opportunity learn and grow! Ask questions of those more knowledgeable than you, no matter how dumb it might make you feel.

People with real wisdom will see you are eager to learn and will be more inclined to help you than if you fain and retreat into a defeatist attitude.

Remember nothing substantially worth while is easy, but with the proper attitude, coaching, and determination anything can be accomplished.

So, the next time you find yourself afraid to ask a question that you think will make you look dumb, remember The Dumbest Question Is The One Never Asked!

It called the 6 W good post

Worrying about how we will appear is a waste of time and energy. My father, when he would find me worrying, would say, "Son, worry is a payment made on a debt that is not due." This has served me well in my life.

That's a great saying. And as Zig Ziegler would say, fear is false evidence appearing real.

This is very important info. I think everyone on earth has been in this situation before. U feel like if u ask a dumb question everyone is going to look down on u and think u r very stupid. But, we have to ignore those feelings if we want to get any where in life because asking questions is how we all learn. It's always been like that and always will be. Actually, if we don't ask questions then we r dumb. Learning is part of life so it is extremely important to ask questions in order to learn to get some where in life. There r no dumb questions because learning is the best thing one can do. So, asking questions shows interest, intelligence, thoughtfulness, brightness, and curiosity of good aspects of live. It shows your interest in learning. Learning new things is exciting, fun, adventurous and leads to success.

Well said, I couldn't agree more. I loved it when you said, "if we don't ask questions then we are dumb". Because that embraces the theme of this post :) Learning is the gift of life!

Just don't be afraid to ask!
