Leaving 2016 Behind

Hey everyone, I hope you guys are enjoying the start of the new year. This is my first blog post so bear with me and any feedback is appreciated.

I was actually introduced to Wealthy Affiliate in early 2016. I was scrolling my FB homepage one day and I came across a suggested post about making money online. I read the article, briefly checked out WA's homepage, and went about my day, but I've always kept it in the back of my head. Fast forward a few months, my 9-5 at Bank Of America became more annoying and frustrating, and I began thinking to myself "I don't know how much more of this I can take". The plan was to use the tuition reimbursement benefit to go back to school and that is still the plan. However, depending on what happens over the next few months, it may be time to move on.

Back to the matter at hand, I decided to take a second look at WA. I like to do research on things before getting involved with him. I was happy to see the rave reviews, so in August, I signed up, started my week trial and soon after, I went premium. I had learned so much in those first few lessons and I was excited to start this journey. However, I found myself being on and off with my consistency with the WA training due to work and other things going on in my life. I managed to get my website up, however it still needs fine tuning, and I need to create that all-important content.

Truth be told, I was afraid to begin writing content. I'm sure it's in the back of everyone's mind before they start: "What if no one reads it?" or "How can I be sure what I'm writing is quality information?". What I've learned and what I'm here to say...is leave it all behind. Leave behind the fears, doubts, inconsistencies and worries in 2016. They don't do anything except hold us back and keep us from reaching our potential. Steve Harvey put it best in the following video:

We have to jump to be successful. As I'm writing this blog, I'm also working on my first blog post for my website. I'm nervous and scared as hell, but I've accepted that because it means I'm moving toward something great and I'm not letting that or anything else stop me. In 2016, I've made it a year at Bank Of America, said goodbye to grandfather, and dealt with issues that I didn't even know I had in terms of confidence, self-consciousness, and fear. But still, putting it all behind me. I don't believe in New Year's Resolutions, but I believe in self -improvement. In 2017 I'm holding myself accountable in improving myself daily at the gym, with consistency on WA and my website, and my reading. So everyone, let's make that jump and make 2017 a great year.

Until next time...
