Kayden!
Football Season is here again. My favorite player in the world is #68 in the above picture. His name is Kayden and he is my firstborn grandson!! He was 8 years old years in these pictures. He is 9 now, though. He has taught me so much since he started playing football about never quitting and giving it all you've got!!
You see, last year Kayden played Offensive and Defense. In the entire season he only set out for 4 plays.
Yes, he got tired and discouraged at times. I asked him last season, he was only 8 at that time, why didn't he just skip a practice and rest up for the next game. He told me that for him to rest would let his team down. He said that they all need each other. He informed me that a team works together for everyone to be their best!
Wow! What a lesson for an 8-year-old boy to be teaching his Bammie. Kayden puts his heart into the game. He never quits. He Never Ever gives up. On the field, he is constantly encouraging his teammates. He loves each one of them and they love him. It's a beautiful thing to watch. If he makes a tackle, he is always the one to help his opponent up. He rejoices at each victory, and learns from every loss.
Now, you may think that I am just a bragging Bammie, and yes, sometimes I am, but today I am having to put some of these lessons that Kayden has taught me to practice. I am having some difficulties of my own. Yes, I am tired and even a little discouraged. But I am not about to quit and give up. I thoroughly intend to rejoice in each victory and learn from every loss. I intend to practice, practice, and practice some more until I get the strategies down. I am going to my coaches for help when I don't understand the next "play". I need my team. The best part is that I know you are right there with me.
I've got my Game Face on! My heart is all the way in this!! I am going for VICTORY!!!!
PLAYING TO WIN!!!
All the best,

Well done everyone. Childrens sport is really important for their self esteem and life skills.
Yes, I totally agree. It really does teach them life lessons, especially when they have a really great coach.
Have an awesome week.

It is incredible the wisdom of children, and Kayden is so right. You can't quit you have a whole community of people behind you holding you up till you find your footing. We all slip on the journey, we just need to have a little faith in ourselves, that we are strong enough, even when tired to get up and go again. I believe in you.

Thanks, Mary. That was incredibly sweet. I really appreciate that.
I've been just a tad discouraged, but things are going to be OK. I just know it. How can I fail with this awesome community pulling for me?
Have an awesome week.
All the best,
Wendi :)
That's awesome Wendi Sue, both for him and you. Champions in the making and at the same time helping to make champions. I like that.
I like how you said that.
Kayden truly is my champion. He's pulled me through more than one rough spot. He's a great kid with a huge heart.
Have an awesome week ahead.
All the best,
Wendi :)
A very good lesson to learn Wendi. It is great when the youngsters can teach us these things.

Hey Wendi,
Kayden could teach all of us a thing or two!! For being just 8 years old he sure has a lot of wisdom!!!

Yes, he does. Don't get me wrong, he is still a little boy. But he is a Team Player.
All the best, Elaine.

What an inspirational young man. And I love your new signature...is there a training for that that I’ve missed?
Have a wonderful weekend!
