You do not want to edit the HTML directly, as you will lose the changes when your theme updates or if you change your theme.

There are yes, they are called Membership Plugins or LMS Plugins depending on your requirements. You might want to checkout MemberPress and LearnDash which are the two most popular for this purpose. Some others are Teachable, Restrict Content Pro and S2Member.
