Have you ever been held against your will?

Hello again WA community sorry I have been away for a while.

I had a complication with my knee replacement and it got infected. It actually required me to go back into surgery and have the incision cleaned out. I was to stay a day Enter your own correction... two in the hospital.

Well needless to say things didn't go as planned, as many things in life rarely do!

I had a really bad reaction to the medication I was given in the ICU which caused the topic of this post. Surely they did the right thing at the time but I was not a happy camper.

Lets just say I was not in my right mind for a while and caused a little problem. I insisted they let me go and of course they refused.

Even had them bring in the M.P. but they also informed me I was not going anywhere.

This was definitely the first time my freedom had been taken away and I was not only mad but then started feeling completely helpless against these forces.

Enough about the incident itself now I can move on to the rest of the story. Finally, allowed to leave the hospital after 6 days I returned home and intended to get back full swing into WA and SAC.

Intentions are great if followed through however I found I needed more time at home re-adjusting to everything or at least that has been my excuse for delaying to date.

I got out of the hospital on 5/23 and yes we had a holiday but it has taken me till today 6/3 to finally overcome my fear.

Waite what fear you say? Why the fear of having to start all over building confidence, commitment, and that just do it attitude I had prior to all this mess.

What's the point of this post?

You never know what is down the road that will destroy your plans or side track you.

The only one thing that keeps bringing me back is that I HAVE COMMITED TO NEVER GIVE UP.

Everyone says follow the training and I agree. Ask questions and you will get help. I totally agree this is a great place to be just add.

NEVER GIVE UP

Thanks Wayne

You are right Wayne, never give up, if you can't control the rest you can control your commitment. I am cheering for you all the way, wishing you nothing but the best.

Hi Wayne, I know the hospitals here in Ontario Canada can hold you against your will for seven days. Or else there is a lot of paper work to do. Been there but not under similar circumstances.
Perhaps the hospital administered you with the wrong and were trying to cover their butts.
The main thing is you are back at WA, hopefully you don't have too much catching up to do. All the best,
Michael

So sorry about your trauma, and glad you are back with us again. Hopefully moving forward you will have a smooth road for a while.
