I'm lost. I've been trying to set up my website with some rss feeds for some fresh, new content and I'm banging my head against the wall. Anyone out there that can help me?
What are "feeds"? Sounds to me like a way to steal content from one website to put it into your own!
Can someone explain in simple laymans terms what the heck RSS is. I've followed the link from Russ Stewart but was lost after the first sentence! What is the point of it? I have totally no knowledge of HTML so that part lost me immediately. Sorry to sound like a nerd but can you use WYSIWYG for this system?
It's where you can obtain "feeds" from different sites to feed your sight with new and fresh content.
RSS--(-Really Simple Syndication )--It was used so others could set it up on there website and others would click on it to get more from their website where they like the information and get updates.
Russstewart gives a good link to learn from below.

Hi Warren, I'm sure you've figured this out by now, but for anyone else still looking for an answer to this question, here's a great blog I just found on the subject - http://theedublogger.com/2010/01/26/setting-up-feedburner-rss-and-email-subscription-for-your-blog/

Does Wordpress have a limit on the number of plugins it can run? How many plug-ins can Wordpress support before the web site starts slowing down?
I agree with Shawn, it all depends on which ones you are using. I am a speed freak, and I try to avoid as many plugins as possible. I try to do as much custom codework as I can, but a good plugin won't have any negative effect on your sites speed, and sometimes I see no point in trying to reinvent the wheel, and so just use a plugin.
Here is how little good plugins will negatively effect your site speed if you are doing everything right.
My latest blog that I am about to launch has over 30 plugins, yep 30, and all my pages load in under 1 second ;)
In fact it is a plugin that is assisting me in making a loading time like that possible ;)
Not all plugins are created equal ;)
There is no set number, as it all depends on which ones you are using. Rule of thumb is only use what you absolutely need. You can check your speed here : http://wordpress.org/plugins/p3-profiler/
You can run as many as you need but, each one will impact the load time of your site so you should limit the ones you have installed to only what is absolutely necessary.
I remember having heard Jay advicing no mmore that ten because they affects teh site's epeed
There's no real rule because not every plugin needs the same amount of CPU and upload time. If you have a normal blog website, and depending of your themes possibilities, 6-8 are mostly more than sufficient. If you need more than 10-12 the upload time will probably suffer. So, use only those you "really" need.
For some reason 10 sticks in my mind, however we are told if it is not necessary then do not have it for it slows down the speed of your site

When you submit your web site to search engines do you have to submit every page or just your main url?
That is one of the beauty's of using WP. It does so much for you, automated and hands free! WP takes care of letting the search engines know when you post a new article and you do not need to do more.
Hi Warren, If you're using a WordPress website as are most here, the following applies. When you create a new post, your blog will ping and notify all the ping services that it has been updated. This encourages search engines and different blog directories/services to index your updated blog properly.

Are there any plug-ins that are just plug and play to have my website obtain RSS feeds? I've been working on this all morning with no luck.
