If you are new to Wealthy Affiliate here are my thoughts on understanding keywords. Keywords are words or phrases that people use to search for different things by putting them in a search engine. When you enter a word or phrase into Google, Yahoo and Bing, you are entering a keyword.
When I first go to WA I thought you had a place to enter keywords, but that is not the case. Keyword research is finding words or phrases that are suited with your niche and deciding if it is relevant to you building content around that. When you choose your keywords then use them in your posts or titles of your menus.

Keywords in Website Title are nice. In Page and Post Titles are okay. You want to use one keyword per article. Use it once in the title and once in the first paragraph. Possibly put it in again towards the end of your page but don't overuse Keywords. Especially the same keywords. Google will get you for keyword overusing if you use a bunch of keywords in one article. Keywords can and sometimes should be used in a phrase. Keywords are very good to use to help your rankings. Make sure your content Supports your keywords and in order to keep the Traffic Interested in your Work. Hope this helps some!
