I received a call today from someone claiming to be from Amazon Affiliates. At first I thought it actually was Amazon. But as I listened, they asked for a couple hundred dollars to set up the website for me.

So I told them a couple hundred would be difficult and they said they would call back. I figured it was a scam. They said an opening was available in the area. Amazon sells all over the world, is earth the area? They also quoted higher percentages of amazon's affiliate payout than is currently listed on their website.

I've never heard of Amazon making websites for people. They have you make the website and then apply to sell for Amazon. If they like the site, you get into the program. Has anyone else run into a company claiming to be Amazon Affiliates trying to sell a website
