From an Idea to Taking Action. My Story of Change

I remember in the beginning of 2017. I made a promise to myself that I would change my life for the better. I was feeling trapped in my 9-5 job and felt that something needed to change. I could go in to more detail but I'll just leave it at that. The first half of 2017 passed and I had not made much progress. I read a lot of books and watched a lot of videos on self-help and improvement. This one guy I followed talked about how having a purpose in life would drastically change your life. That you need something to be excited about when you wake up every day, This was when the idea of having my own business and being self-employed was born.

I always did what was expected of me. I got a degree, got a nice job. Eventually I got a good salary and I moved to London. I always had a goal to aim for. But when I had lived in London for awhile and the initial excitement wore off, I was left with a feeling of lack or that something was missing. It was this feeling that finally drove me to take action. At first I was just out to meet new people. I went out a few times a week to network and meet random people at different events. This was a HUGE change for me since I'm naturally an introvert. I kept going even if it was really awkward at first. But with time I got better at talking with people in a relatively short period of time.

It was through a network event I met this guy who had started his own business pretty recently. He was very excited and his excitement was contagious. During the first night we met he threw all kinds of suggestions at me of what I could do to get my business started. It was a bit scary because now the idea of starting a business started to feel like something that could actually happen and was not just an idea in my head. I knew I had to make something happen soon!

I made a decision that I was going to conquer the fear that held me back from fully taking action. I started to work on myself and read a lot of books, like Eckhart Tolles The Power of Now, Think and Grown rich by Napoleon Hill, The 80/20 Principle by Richard Koch just to name a few. I started to meditate. This was a game changer!! I never though I would be someone to meditate but here I am meditating twice a day, everyday. It helps me to stay focused and quiets my mind. And it helped my finally conquer my fears. Really amazing stuff, can recommend it enough!

By "chance" I stumbled upon a community online that promised success if you joined their "family". I was intrigued and joined. But it just didn't feel right to me. So I found another community. This one felt a bit scammy and required me to invest a lot of money to earn a lot of money. However, this was my introduction to affiliate marketing, so in that sense I'm grateful that I found this site because now I had an idea of what I could do! It didn't take long before I found Wealthy Affiliate after that. It just felt right straight away. The welcome from the community was almost overwhelming (in a good way!) and I knew I had found a great place to build on my dream to become self-employed.

So here I am. I now have my own website in a niche where I will help people find their unique guitar tone. Something I'm really passionate about and that I want to learn more about. So while I help other I will also grow in knowledge within this niche.

My goal for 2018 is to leave my job and be 100% self-employed. I see myself starting to earn a significant income in 3 months time. By this time I will have set up a least one other niche website. I already have ideas of what I want to do next. By 6 months I will have replaced my income and will be able to finally quit my job and focus 100% on my business.

I want to take to opportunity to thank everyone for all the support and help I've been given so far. It feels amazing to have a 100 000+ community behind me where everybody is going in the same direction. THAT is powerful and I know this will be one of the main reason why I will succeed with my business.
