The vulnerability in Nextgen Gallery is allegedly fixed.
An update to the plugin was released shortly after Securi informed about the breach.
But the update was released as a regular update with no special information about the need to update, so many out there who don't have a strict update discipline, will still be at risk.
So remember to update your plugins everybody.
I just wonder... How secure our site really is?
All of our login usernames are "admin" and just by adding /wp-login to the end of our domain address gets us to the login
You made me want to check my own login info. haha
This is true, but I think it's close to impossible to guess the password. I mean seriously, mine are lower/uppercase letters, numbers, and special characters. As you know, passwords are case sensitive. I couldn't imagine how long it would take someone to actually guess it.
I think that you are under estimating hackers. I honestly think that they can guess that still if they want to.
It is. Our website at work is powered by Wordpress and they have changed the login url for safety reasons. I checked LOL
I mean the odds of us getting hit by a curious hacker is not very much. I just don't want to take the chance.
I'd ask this directly to Kyle if i were you. You're asking an honest question and as someone new I'm sure he'll give you a straight answer and reasons why he stands behind it.
It's crazy but the dude actually responds back to our questions. It may take a day, cuz he surely gets thousands of these and quite honestly i don't know how he does it, but feel free to ask away. He'd definitely be the go-to source for this question.
