Historic Royal Palaces - Is This History Being Made
Historic Royal Palaces
Probably the wedding of the certury took place today.
It will never be repeated. It is unique in that it did not follow the usual protocols.
A future King has married a foreigner, a non royal, invited unusual guests, believes in peace and happiness more than pomp and tradition.
I think this royal couple will connect with the people much more than previous royal couples.
They will not eat cake while others starve.
In a small town with narrow streets there is an enormous ancient castle and that is where the wedding took place.
It was watched by over 2 billion people.
Every body seemed very happy and relaxed.

I really like the fact that she embraces her biracial heritage and is proud of it. A really beautiful wedding. Kudus to the Brittish Royals for accepting her for who she is and welcoming her into the family.
Yes, the traditions in that family run deep and they have certainly pushed limits on this one. That is great for many reasons. The last "king2 to marry an American had to abdicate and became almost an outcast, so this wedding is a really good example to the world.
That's true, and she was a divorcee, too. Times certainly have changed. For the better, I think. I'm happy for both of Diana's boys that they were allowed to marry for love and not for duty, like she was.
Absolutely Carol.
Hopefully this has set a precedent for English Royalty.
I feel it has created a really good atmosphere of hope and happiness which can only be good for us all.
I am not one for big ceremonies and pomp etc. but there was an air of happiness about the whole affair. Almost surreal at times.

Good afternoon Peony,
I think it was lovely, great weather. I was ironing and brushing shoes and boots in the meantime.
Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske
Hi Taetske. Multitasking again.
How have the Spanish reacted to the wedding?
I think most have in a positive way. Our Queen is also a commoner after all as are many others in the younger generation of royal houses in Europe.
