With Facebook, there are many opportunities but it seems that they are hidden. In just the short amount of time I have been working with Facebook, I can honestly say, if it was not for digging and studying the ins and outs of it, I would not know the highlights to help my business. Plus, it is still a work in progress. Here are five quick tips on Facebook.

Starting a Business Page

For me, starting a business page that is separate from my personal page is detrimental. I still like to post personal items on my personal page for my friends and family but if I want to attract fans, clients and potential customers, I want to have a separate page. Even aside from that I learned that you can post your logo, business-related pictures, captions and new blog advertisements.

Contacts

Believe or not, there are some ways to import your Facebook contacts including email addresses directly into your MailChimp, for example. The workaround is not intuitive at all, so postings from others on You Tube videos helps with this process. Just search on how to import contact from Facebook to MailChimp, for example.

Optimizing Your Facebook Audience

You can increase your contacts also with use of Optimizing Your Audience in the Settings options. Facebook changes this from time to time, so now you have to check the box in Settings, called Audience Optimization for Posts and optimize your audience each time you post on your business page. By clicking on the "Allow preferred audience selection and the ability to restrict the audience for your posts" you can then adjust the audience with each post by clicking on the compass-look-alike icon below the post box. In theory, by doing this, you will attract more people to your business page that are within your desired audience range.

Using Facebook Analytics

There is a lot that goes into this action but ultimately the Insights in Facebook are great for helping your realize your market. I see that videos and pictures of me giving away personal information do better for my business. I also see that my demographic is women between age 25-50 that are mostly interested in what I offer. These insights will only aid you in your purchase of Facebook advertisements especially when you are giving away contents of having contests or starting to sell your products.

Facebook Live Videos

This is new territory for me, but I have read and learned that Facebook Live videos is the next step to getting Facebook to leverage your business. I am excited to engage my audience in this way, because I love being in front of a camera. However, this is not the same for everyone. I think that if you can warm up to this idea, it can be advantageous to your brand. Another highlight I learned about Facebook, is that if you can post a video directly into your business page feed, instead of posting a link of a You Tube video, for example, your video will be boosted better in the Facebook application whereas, Facebook will know that you are only using a link from You Tube and will not promote the video as much.

Facebook Opportunities

Facebook is a great platform for business. There are various other tips including how to create a landing page from your Facebook business page and how to incorporate the capability of a store or appointment scheduling from your business page as well. You can even include Instagram and You Tube applications near your page so those are shown and accessible as well to your audience members. You can also create Facebook Event Pages to promote your business, products, webinars or giveaways. Facebook has a lot to offer for business overall but there intricacies are vast and difficult to navigate at times. I encourage you to be determined and investigative in the process.

Still far from establishing my biz on social media, but I'll keep FB in mind once I get my WA website set up.
