Experimenting with Facebook ads!

Last night, I created a Facebook page as part of the training. One of the next steps involved sharing content on my Facebook page, but I felt a little strange doing this on a page with zero followers.

I decided to experiment and set up a small 5-day ad campaign to get my first few Likes and then drop my latest article. To get started, I set up my Page properly with all its sections, a logo and a cover image. Then, I shared two of my older website posts to put a little content on it.

It took 14 hours to get my ad approved, but within 2 hours I'd gotten my first Like! Another 2 hours later, I now have 4 Likes from the ad campaign. I'm hoping that within a day or two I can share my latest article to a small audience of at least 20 people.

Just thought I'd share, I was blown away that the ads really work! It's a small success, but one nonetheless :)

Update: 12 hours after ad launch, I have 24 page likes, 6 post reactions, 1 "tag" comment and a share! Mind = blown.

I'm going to experiment some more in the coming weeks/months and hopefully I'll be able to share something useful about what I learned!
