Attempting to leave your comfort zone behind can be quite a daunting task. We get so set in our old ways and habits that it makes us afraid to change. Why bother trying to fix something that’s not broke?

Work and home life can be a stressful enough place already, so we often do what we can to lessen any further risk of stress that changing up a routine might bring.

My hope is to possibly give you a nudge by showing you how to leave your comfort zone behind.

But you may be losing out on the things you want from life. Don’t settle for a job or a hobby just because it’s secure or you’ll eventually get stuck in a wrong pattern.

If you feel that something in your life isn’t right, take a chance and move past your fears. It’s time you broke the monotony, created a positive change and explored new pastures.

Let’s look at the top 7 ways you can leave your comfort zone behind.

Change Your Outlook on Life

Altering our mindset can aid us greatly in our journey. Doing so requires a certain amount of mental toughness and endurance.

An easy way to begin this is by producing positive reinforcing thoughts about your dreams and wants in life and the type of person you want to be.

By saying them every day, we can retrain our mind to where eventually these positive thoughts will be a part of our beliefs.

Face your Fears

Many of us have specific fears that have plagued us for a long time. It might be doing interviews, giving speeches or asking for promotions.

Many times, it crosses your mind, but you try to forget it and not push yourself. That one fear could be the only thing stopping you from giving the best that you have to offer.

Try to set up a plan to tackle this fear head-on. When you’ve done that, give yourself a nice little reward can significantly improve your self-esteem.

Coach Yourself

If you were asked to help someone leave their comfort zone behind what would you say to them? Pretend you’re the coach, and you need to help someone, and you might help yourself along the way as well.

Change Your Look

Often our mindsets can be reflected in not only the places we live but also in how we behave and look ourselves.

People who have a confidence problem many times, entirely subconsciously, wear clothes that will make them hide amongst the crowd, and that downplays their appearance.

Simple things like a fresh wardrobe or makeup can do wonders! Brighter clothing, new haircuts, weight loss, all these things can help your confidence.

The change may feel somewhat bizarre in the beginning, but it creates a positive message about yourself that you’re a vibrant and robust individual.

Try Believing in Yourself

Our thoughts can often be our main hindrance in achieving success. Usually, we don’t think we’re able to get what we want, which means we never try them.

To overcome these bad habits, we have to find a way where we can try to start believing in ourselves. Creating charts and message boards at home with positive thoughts, and abilities and aspirations for the future can be tremendous.

Especially finding inspiring quotes and performing visualization techniques can help us break the cycle of not being confident.

Try New Things

When we say leave your comfort zone behind, we mean just that! Making a list of new things to do such as, reading, writing or joining a sports team is a creative way for you to explore new ideas.

So many new experiences could be waiting for you, you have to take that leap! Creating lists will make sure you keep thinking of new ways to get out of your comfort zone.

Do Something Scary Once A Day

An excellent technique to gain back the power in your life is to seek out things that scare you. We’re not talking about spiders here but doing little things that scare you can help build confidence.

It could lead to endless possibilities and remember to have some fun along the way.

Conclusion

Don’t let staying in your comfort zone cheat you out of experiencing what life has to offer. Shake off that stagnation and start fresh by stepping outside of your box.

Even if you can’t leave your comfort right away, maybe this article will at least show you how to stretch your comfort zone by trying to add new things to try.

With anticipation, these suggestions will motivate you to take a leap of faith and leave your comfort zone behind for good!
