Paradox is an unusual statement or situation which contradicts the common expectations, common sense. It's very often absurd and funny. You can use paradoxes in your articles and blog posts to attract attention of a reader.

Let's start with this funny paradox.

There are 1271 kilometres from NewYork to Chicago.(not responsible for the estimates, just read it.)

From Chicago to New York there are 1271 kilometres.

From my flat to the supermarket there are about 500 metres.

From the supermarket to my flat there are about 500 metres..

From Monday to Sunday there are 6 days.

From Sunday to Monday there is 1 day.

Is this fair?

But today it's Wednesday, the middle of the week. We can take some time to relax and enjoy.

So here are more paradoxes to laugh at, to think over, to enjoy.

Here's an optical paradox. This thing looks logical and correct, but only at first sight.Look how it is built..

Paradox Box, an optical illusion. You can make the central part of it go up, or go down at your will.

A beautiful paradox:

My pleasure, Marek. Great to hear from you!:)

It would take me all day to reply to your great scattergun ensemble of facts Vera, but here's one to trump them all:
The number of neurons in the brain varies dramatically from species to species. One estimate (published in 1988) puts the human brain at about 100 billion (1011) neurons and 100 trillion (1014) synapses.

Sounds impressive, Mike, but we all the same can't embrace these huge numbers.:)
