Affiliate Marketing Programs in French?
Does anybody at WA work with Affiliate Programs in French?
If so, could you please tell me what the legality of this is, if those companies are based overseas. Obviously, writing in French is not the problem for me, since it is my native language. It could actually be fun, and I'd like to explore different other regional/ national markets in my own niche, if the opportunities are there.
Also, what French speaking country do you work with?
I was just curious.

I've linked the French site of Amazon to my main Amazon Affiliate account, and all the info from them comes out in French, so that's probably a good resource to see what some of the standards for affiliate marketers are for operating in France. Vicki's suggestion sounds great too.

I assume for Quebec, Amazon US can ship there too? So it would only be a matter of translating your site/ pages.

In Canada, we have Amazon.ca which is bilingual.
I'm finding that translating an article takes nearly as long as writing one!!!
In my case, I have my main account at amazon.com, i.e. the US, and accounts for 7 other countries linked to that account. I use Amazon OneClick which converts the currency automatically to show the products on the Amazon website relevant to the buyer...

Do you have 2 websites or one in English and one in French?
My websites are listed at the bottom right of my profile, there's a spot where people can do that. I have 4 websites, 3 in English, and the one in French is going to be the translation of one of them.
One big problem with any non-English website is: how are you going to get comments from users? My two websites look weird from the point of view that there are lots of English comments on the English website, but when you click on a page that has a translation, there are no comments in French...
Also I've had some difficulty with finding keywords in French with enough traffic.
I really appreciate all the info. Thanks for the insight. I will rethink my approach for now.
