Progress Update: Week 2
Well I just finished up week 2 here at Wealthy Affiliate so as promised I am going to keep up with my accountability as far as my progress. I did a lot of work this week and am proud of my accomplishments.
What I Got Done:
I worked on a lot of the website feedback I received from fellow WA members. I moved my Affiliate Disclosure and Privacy Policy to my website footer, expanded my story on the About me page, added contact forms, and realigned images on my mentoring page. The only thing I haven't done is add more content to my Resources page. I did add a little but that page definitely needs more work. I'll have to keep that on the to-do list for now.
I went through all the Live Training Videos....exhausting but I did it. I have a few bookmarked that I need to revisit so I can better implement those in the future.
I added Google Analytics and XML Sitemap to my website. I created an Amazon Associate's account and added a couple of products to my site. But I still have more work to do there.
I gained 30 new followers this week for a total of 94 and my rank skyrocketed from 5997 to 1407. I shared my blog content on social media and wrote a few posts here inside WA.
Triumphs
Created a 1,000 word review on Jaaxy or my website. The post was a beast and took me the whole week but I got it done. And I am getting a lot of positive response.
Made My First Affiliate Sale: Woohoo! And the new member absolutely loves this community
Interview Request: I was contacted by a freelance writing resource company to do an online interview with them which I accepted. I will update you on that next week.
New Project: I have accepted a huge writing project to write content for a financial course for kids which is going to be amazing.
Stumbling Blocks
My PayPal buttons still suck. They won't center even though they are coded to do so. I reached out for help here and was recommended a few plugins. I still have to try those out and see if I can get them looking any better.
For the life of me, I couldn't get Google Webmaster Tools to recognize my site so I could set that up. Maybe it's because my website was only indexed by Google a couple days before I tried. Maybe I screwed something up. I don't know. That's an issue I still have to address in the next week or two.
What's For Next Week:
I have another blog post in the works to get done. I already have the research and keywords part done. Need to set up Google Webmaster tools and expanded my resources page. I have plans for a couple more pages to add but we'll see how that goes.
