Taking the Weekend Off :(
Where to draw the line in reading email when you are forced to take two days off? I took two days off because of planning a birthday dinner party for 32 people at my home and I was doing all the cooking. I would glance at the email, but honestly could not take the time to view the postings. I sat down this morning and have spent the past two hours and am still not done. I thing I will delete the balance as I am getting Nothing done on my own website. Does anyone else ever feel this overwhelmed when they are away for a few day. How do you handle this?

I would delete all the discussion emails because these problems are likely to have been solved already and there's no point you wasting time on them.
You can also change your settings for email notifications in your account. I have, for example, unticked being informed of 'likes'. You could just untick the whole lot if you know you are going to be busy with other things for a few days. 'What you don't know about, you won't fret about.' (I just made this quote up ;-))
it can be over whelming at times, I get up a bit earlier to go through them and then again at night , you can only do what you can
I do not check emails or do any work starting sun down on Friday to sun-down on Saturday. Then Sunday I have to clean and do other family stuff. When I check my email it is over 100, but I set aside time to go thru them all, because I don't want to miss anything important. But it can get overwhelming. Good luck.
It gets overwhelming and you could spend the DAY reading the blogs/posts/discussions. I pick out the ones I think I can help, replys, or new follows. It's not humanly possible to keep up with all of it and keep up with your site.
Hi Veronica. I found that if I read everything I don't have time to do any actual work. A couple of days ago I decided I will only read what is relevant to me at that particular moment. In future when I get stuck I will search for advice and the blogs and posts that came past me will be available. I won't remember it all anyway.
Yes, indeed...Veronica. I am one of the many who posted about being overwhelmed and also frustrated. I want to keep up with everything and answer all emails and discussions...but I don't really think it is humanly possible...and like yourself...I really do try. I haven't taken a day off since I arrived here at WA. But, I do know what my inbox looks like in the AM *smile & a wink*
I completely agree with you! It does become very overwhelming and its tough to balance the two. Personally, if I have gotten involved in a lot of discussions and blog posts, I'll just cherry pick the ones I want to get involved with next. I'm not going to lie, sometimes I just respond to to the members that are following me and then just check to see if a member has their question answered. If so, I just delete the email and move on to the next. I know its ideal to get involved with everything here, but you have to be willing to sacrifice some to stay on track with your business :)
Honestly because of the e-mail volume I receive I have to pick and choose which ones to read on a daily basis. I have spent all day reading them all before. Don't feel guilty - work on your site!
I take a deep breath, then take one email at a time. It goes pretty fast when I listen to some really upbeat music. That's how I did studying at college--the stereo on, TV on, chewing gum, singing to the music, all the while I'm typing my thesis...high level multitasking at its best!

HI, Thank you. We all need reminding why we are here. I ,like many others may have fallen into the trap of neglecting the primary reasons for being here . it's NOT to read 12 - 15 WA emails each and every day.. Thanks again and cheers, Mike
