Hi Valcorum,

You asked for feedback on just your 'getting started' page. Here's my honest feedback... Hope it's not to brutal.

If the goal of your page is to promote Wealthy Affiliate then my opinion is to remove all other distracting links, and the comments section as well.

Leave the page so that there's only one action a site visitor can take, and that's to get them to click on your affiliate link.

The big blue link in the header shouldn't be a link and white text would look much better against the dark background. The links in the menu give people an opportunity to move away from your affiliate offer.

You offer people help to become successful online yet you offer no proof of any of your own success. People would be more 'sold' on you if you could offer some social proof or some testimonials from people that you have helped already.

I'd also try and do a better job of pre-selling the Wealthy Affiliate opportunity. Maybe look into some of Dan Kennedy's copywriting information products. You could also offer some really cool bonuses to motivate someone to use your affiliate link as well.

Another thing I noticed is that you make reference to people not spending any money up front. My opinion is that people don't mind spending money if there's some real value on the table. Plus a way or method in which they will have an opportunity to get their money back with some extra profit as well.

Sales is all about offering a solution to a pain that people have. Your job as a salesman for wealthy affiliate is to act like a doctor and ask if they have certain symptoms, or ask them 'where does it hurt' in your sales copy then offer the solution in the form of wealthy affiliate benefits.

These are just my opinions dude. Hope it helps :)

P.S. I like your Metallica Tshirt on your 'about me' page. I love 'fade to black' and 'Sanitarium'.

Thanks Ronster for the feedback, any feedback is good feedback.

Please keep in mind this is only my 2nd day on WA and I am still going through the Affiliate Bootcamp (Course 1, lesson 8)

I have changed the title to white (I was planning on doing that, just hadnt got round to actually doint it)

The site header is always a link back to the home page - I cant see how you can turn that off (even by editing the CSS file)

There are only 3 links in the content of the page and they all link to WA, so I am not sure what links you are referring to. Also, the training says to leave the comments section there.

The menu items will also always be there - not sure how to turn that off.

I cant offer people proof of my success yet, because I don't have any success yet - as I said, this is only the 2nd day of my journey and I haven't actually helped anyone yet :)

Could you please elaborate some more on what ways I can make my pre-sell better. Any direct hints (I am not very good at subtle) would be greatly appreciated.

PS. Sanitarium is a awesome song but as I am a bass player I like Orion better (I know its a different album :P)

Hi Val,

To pre sell the WA opportunity you could use a tactic that some people find controversial but I've seen it work over and over again.

Do a review of an inferior yet similar type of opportunity, give it an average ranking out of 5 stars or something.

Then offer to show the reader a far more superior way of spending their money by investing in wealthy affiliate. Keep the same approach of try before you buy, but mention the upgrade. Again offer some reall killer bonuses to them if they go through your link.

here's an excellent example of a thorough presell,
http://blog.extra-paycheck.com/wealthy-affiliate-review

Also you really need to break up your text with some images, again look at the page above for an excellent example of this. That guy's page is an interesting read, it keeps the reader engaged and interested.

By the way just because your using wordpress doesn't mean it has to look like a WP blog, have a look at one of my WP sites to see what I mean.

http://helpfuldynamics.com

There's only one action a person can take on that page. Don't sign up there though the site's not ready for 'primetime' yet.

Here's another of my pages you could look at to get inspiration to break up all that dark text on your white background,

http://emailmarketing.helpfuldynamics.com

Don't buy that product though, I'll give it to you for free if you want it. I'm not trying to make money from anyone on here. I'm just trying to show you that if you don't break up your text you will drive people away from your site. Make it interesting for people to read your pages. Add video if you can.

You said you know some design and programming, there's a free software called Jing (google it) where it can record your screen. You could make videos and show people how to do some of the stuff you know.

Offer some free videos in exchange for their email address then market affiliate products to them on the backend. Just a thought.

Monetize while you're building up your site by list building. I noticed that you don't have any optin forms on your site. Building a list is ultra profitable if done properly. Still profitable even if done half well.

A pop-up on exit can work well, if you don't have a wordpress plugin to create popups just let me know I can give you one for free.

Anyways thats probably enough for now dude, have a good one.

Most of the stuff you have said I have read about, but at this stage it hasnt been brought up in the training programs I am doing here at WA.

As I said I am only at course 1 (out of 10), lesson 8 (actually lesson 9 now)

I am sure all of this stuff will be "taught" soon. For now I am just working through bit by bit.... I am not being ungrateful for the advice, maybe just not up to that part yet.

I am also still using a free website while I learn all of this and when I am more knowledgeable I was going to upgrade it to my own domain (still use the same name - secondincomestream)

That being said, I will definitely look at the web sites you linked to see how they are setup.

To add on to that, you can also use your personal experience, using this guide - https://affiliatedove.com/the-wealthy-affiliate-reviews-ive-tried-it-its-not-a-scam

Hope this helps.
