How long has it taken you to earn what you earn?

A comment got me fired up for another blog entry. Enjoy.

Read my blog post, "The Granny Sack". You can earn in areas as you hone your skills. You have to enjoy the process while you move into ownership of a business. If you are focused on how quickly you can make a million dollars...move along.

No, seriously...you have the best network here to learn from. And, your goals are not prioritized right.

I joined in June 2010. I knew nothing...absolutely nothing. It came from hours of boredom at a corporate job...boredom earning that 40 grand since 2006. I was desperate. It wasn't about the money. I had the good job for what I went to school for. I WAS BORED...scared stiff at the people who had worked there for 35 years.

I had traveled North America as a musician out of college...freelancing and enjoying life, did a lot-glad that I did it. Kind of backwards...just like here at WA.

Then., I settled down like you were suppose to do, right? The thing that your parents approve of...crossing those T's and dotting those I's. The abuse of management and men leading "quiet lives of desperation" (hating the job they devoted their life to) woke me up. It wasn't suppose to be like this.

Hence, WA. It wasn't about the money. I found this place through a systematic dissemination of finding out how to earn money online.

Rundown since 2010:

Months 0-6: Researched on WA, had baby...started writing articles, thesis papers, blogging for others and earning 500-1000 a month while I honed my writing.

Months 6-12: Had some personal issues going on..didn't know where I was heading but started researching my niches and determined four main niches which I am now developing as authority sites. Honed my art skills doing crazy stuff like tattoo designs, freelancing and continued writing...income climbed to 1200-2000. I should mention it was about this time I completely closed down my massage office, because I knew where I was heading. Oh, found out I was pregnant again:)

Months 12-24: Got a corporate job...specifically in digital printing because I knew where I was heading with IM...not so much personally, but always with my goals in mind...continued to quietly study at WA most particularly how to use Social Media to market. Started working on my own product in a niche that if I can't earn money in, I might as well roll over and shoot myself. Had baby. Monthly income working plus internet 2400-3200. Goals accomplished...completely got myself out of debt, had baby...saved money to completely give myself over to my book and developing websites.

Months 24-present: Income: (internet 1000-1200) BUT ONLY because of where I am at with my goals. My book is nearing completion, I am designing a pretty cool website, which will be even better than better because of the networking here. This income does not include freelancing or massage which fluctuates.

The point is where I am at in the process...I am ready to platform into something big. I know it...I can feel it. It is not a question of if, but when...I am not in a rush. I am enjoying the process. It is because of WA...hard-work and keeping at it. It is ownership. Nobody can take it away. Not an unhappy manager...fluctuations in big business. My way will not be your way. But, persevere...you got the best tool right here...the one you got to work on is attitude. Cultivate patience. There will be good days as well as bad. It is all there in my own blogs...right now I am having an incredible amount of fun. Keep at it.

Excellent article. Newcomers need this kind of encouragement, with the reality mixed in. Entrepreneurs must be self-motivated, whether on line or brick-and-mortar. The encouragement from others helps facilitate that motivation. Thanks!

Thanks, Duke. Welcome to WA...and if you need any help, let me know:)

Hey

You have a really great writing style, I like it. Following you for sure!

This was very interesting and inspirational to read, thanks for sharing this with others.

I haven't earned anything yet from my website, but I've only been here for a month, and I don't expect overnight success or rewards with no effort.

I too believe you have something much bigger planned for you. You seem to have a knack at writing.

Good luck to you and may your dreams and wishes become a reality.

Richie

I like your niche...research more websites online for website design...you need color in background on your website...psychedelic art needs color but simple theme don't want to take away from product...hone in more with your niche...get into local chatrooms in places like New Orleans and Telluride Colorado...ummm...look into blogging for ezines and stuff. Get paid! Interesting ideas to write about...symbology in psychedelic art, different cultural influences...different techniques...bios of interesting artists.

Thank you

Yeah, I was thinking I needed a background too, without being too distracting but psychedelic at the same time.

Haha yeah, I'll definitely look into other websites and ezines for sure. Getting paid is always nice too lol.

Yeah glad you think so too, I love all of it. There's so much to chose from!

Thank you for your feedback and advice, I will definitely take them to heart and apply them to the best of my ability.
