Visual Content marketing

What do you think of my picture? Striking and thought provoking, isn't it?

We are not just talking about pretty pictures and the ever-popular info-graphic. Visuals are one of the most powerful ways we have to communicate with our target audiences. Pictures, videos, white-board illustrations, and info-graphics are tools that utilize the human visual system to deliver our message in a most compelling way, which makes it incredibly effective. Visuals are the way to achieve your content marketing goals.

Visuals have become one of the most valuable tools for content marketers because it tells your brand's story in a captivating way. Visuals can help a lot in forming a deeper, more meaningful relationship with your target audience by delivering content in formats that they want to engage with.

Info-graphics and other visuals are easier to understand, making them more enjoyable to engage with. Our brains process images in as little as 13 milliseconds. Our brains also connect visuals with our long term memory, connecting with information already stored, improving retention. Audiences now demand content that informs, entertains, educates, and inspires them. Are you giving them such content?

Visual content allows a showcasing of your brand, and if it is engaging, they will spend more time with it, and are also more likely to share it. One study in 2014 found that tweets with images were 5-9 times more likely to be retweeted and were 9-12 times more likely to be generated as favorites.

Online video is also on the rise. This type of visual content can attract more people to your site, because visuals are something people actively search out on Google Search results. According to LewesPR. Image rich content garners 94% more views than content without relevant images/videos. Another study at Hoosh Technology and ISDIA research found that 63% of all visitors who click on a Google image, will go to the website.

Visuals help with content variety, for example, you can use the same image in an info-graphic, on your blog post, in an e-book, and as a teaser on a social media post.

So, our take away for this post is.......use visuals with your content and you'll get more traffic. That's what we are striving for, right friends?

You make a very valid point. I can see that I need to rethink about this and perhaps move away from the more traditional into the more thought provoking side of visuals. Thanks for the insight!
